Description
This is a port of Deeper Dwarven Domestication, originally developed for DF Classic. DDD contains ten domestic creatures, themed around mountains and the underground, only available to dwarves, providing food, fiber, defense, companionship, and more. Original mod by Wannabehero, with graphics based on Ironhand and Kafine.

Boulder Crab: A large subterranean crustacean that can be found wandering caverns in search of food. It is often domesticated by dwarves and harvested for its delicious meat and useful shellstone. Provides meat, eggs, chitin for use in shell crafting, and shellstone, a type of flux.

Dewbeetle: A large docile insect that can be found roaming in the less hospitable regions of the world. It is often domesticated to collect the sweet secretions stored in small pods on its abdomen. This honeydew can be brewed into a tasty beverage. Provides eggs, chitin, and honeydew for beetlemead.

Badgerdog: A medium-sized mammalian carnivore with large digging claws and long striped fur. It is equally at home above or below ground and is renowned for its fierce nature. These ferocious creatures can go berserk in combat. Trainable for hunting or war.

Moleweasel: A fuzzy little borrowing mammal with a long sleek body and short, wide legs. It is often kept as a pet for its lovable companionship and to hunt small vermin. They also multiply rapidly, for those in need of a lot of tallow on short notice.

Leatherwing Bat: A blind flying mammal that hunts small vermin. Its furry little body is dwarfed by enormous leathery wings. The many folds of skin from these wings can be safely trimmed as a renewable source of leather. They also provide vermin control.

Bearded Cavernkeet: A small flightless bird adapted to life climbing and scrabling underground. Its short feathers closely resemble silky colored hairs, with a thick tuft beneath its chin forming a very dwarfy beard. This beard can be trimmed each year for prized beardsilk.

Cragboar: A medium-sized foraging beast native to shallow caves and burrows. It possesses a large snout and long tusks which it uses to dig and furrow through the earth. The tusks of these creatures continuously grow to compensate for the wear of usage and can be sheared as a source of ivory.

Woolly Mountain Goat: A large shaggy herbivore native to the high mountains. Bigger and sturdier than its smaller goat cousins, this creature is often raised by dwarves for its abundant wool and milk.

Cave Tortoise: A large subterranean reptile with a thick shell and prominent horn. Surprisingly docile for their size, these beasts are valued for their eggs, shells, horns, and abundant meat.

Mountain Tuskox: A stocky mammalian beast with stout legs and a dark curly mane. It possesses small curved horns, short tusks, and thickly padded hooves. They provide meat, milk, and labor, and their large size and fearless attitudes give them some utility in fortress defense.

sadly I think this may be outdated now, having it active seems to make the vast majority of world attempts get rejected. Hope the author might be able to take a look.

Unsure if you wrote the file notes in the mod or not but i gotta say they gave me a good chuckle a couple of times

Just thought I'd share this story here. Had a group of Boulder Crabs out to pasture, wild Badgerdogs come in and hurt one of them, damaging her leg and pincer. I've got dwarfvet enabled so, she gets taken to hospital and no joke the dwarves give her a crutch in her good pincer and send her on her way. So I now have a crutch wielding crab hobbling about. I have no idea if this was intentional but I love it so much.

@infernalhellion I wasn't able to replicate that bug. Are you running this mod with any others?

Can't seem to spin yarn/thread from wooly mountain goat wool.
I can shear them. Dwarfs will start the job, take the wool to the workshop, but when it finishes the wool vanishes and no yarn is created.

In order for beetle honeydew to be a valid brewable, the [CUT_REACTION:MAKE MEAD] reaction in needs to be edited to accept all honey, rather than honey bee honey specifically.

I think the animals need pet tokens

Hi, love the mod. One issue I have run into is, i cant seem to make mead from honeydew? I have milked the beetles and have a barrel full of honeydew, however at my still it says I have "no honey-containing item". Is there something I am missing? Thanks.
