Description
You were settling in for an evening by the fire. Then... but you already know the story, right? Well, now you can relive it again!

This mod is a full recreation of the Eye of the Beholder II game. It is intended for the Level 1 party on normal mode.

It includes full EOB2 storyline, levels and puzzles including events with options - but in the Grimrock engine with its original or modded spells, items, objects and monsters. You can think of it as an EOB2/Grimrock hybrid with as much of the EOB2 gameplay as possible given the limitations of my scripting ability and the available assets for Grimrock 1. I kept the layout of original EOB2 levels mostly unchanged with these exceptions:
- the level player starts in
- some secrets
- a special area related to recipes and spells
- a special area to include an aspect of the original EOB2 game I was unable to incorporate otherwise but I didn't want to leave out completely

IMPORTANT NOTES
- some Grimrock 1 spells are cast differently. Hopefully you'll see why. I also included a couple of new spells and recipes.
- the mod features wall hooks of the original game, which act as an alcove for weapons and sometimes just for one specific weapon

The frost bombs will work as well. That means you would need at least 4 of them. Another way is to use the in-game console and open the exit door with this command:

atd_afterpuzzle:open()

bypassing the puzzle completely.

Hi, thanks for the information but unfortunatly, these spells are unknown for my wizard and I can't learn it until I level up. My question was if there is another solution than using these spells (such as ice bombs I could have missed for example).

Hey letorve:
You have to have trap 4 monsters on those 4 plates to open the door. I suggest you lure the monsters onto the plate and then use either Freeze Monster spell (rune combination FHI and lvl 10 Ice magic) or Hold Monster Spell (rune combination DGH and lvl 10 Earth Magic). Once they are in place, close the gratings at both sides of the monster before either of the spells wear out. Do so for 3 pressure plates. Then for the fourth one, which is on a "crossroads" use one of the spells on the monster once it is on the last plate and run for the exit door which should be open.

Hi, very good job! I'm stuck in Azur Tower 4, where to lead "ladies" on plates. I unfortunatly don't have any blocking spell. I managed to have the four plates occupied (ladies not prisoner but simply standing on the plates) the but the door didn't open. How can I keep the exit door open? Thx in advance

Hey lucifuge1968, shields:


Azure Level 1 - One shield
Azure Level 2 - Two shields
Azure Level 3 - Three shields

If you are unable to find the missing one and you can use the in-game console, you can use this command to create and extra shield:

spawn("heavy_shield_lion")


As far as the ores are concerned:


Azure Level 2 - One ore - reward for the challenge and needed to progress to Azure Level 3
Azure Level 4 - One ore - in the junk room that is beyond the puzzle room where you need to trap monsters on the pressure plates.
Azure Level 3 - One ore - At the end of the Diseased Ogre Prison area - that area is reachable only by a pit at end of Azure Level 4.

If you can´t backtrack, you can use thi command to spawn extra ore:

spawn("ore")

You need to place 3 such ores on the altar at Temple Level 2 to progress.

I have only found 1 ore which disappeared. I'm reading below there's a junk room?? Exactly where?

I have 5 shields and am going crazy trying to find the 6th. I'm trying to backtrack my path, but I get to lower levels and can't seem to find linkages (teleporters or stairs) . My map view doesn't show maze titles which doesn't help. Are their maps available for this mod somewhere?

Yes, you must have backtracked quite a lot instead of pressing forward with the Azure Tower levels. Without the ore to open that door you are softlocked. Two posible solutions for you:
1. Reload the game to the state when you still have the ore.
2. Use the game console to open the door with the following command:
azure_temple_door_ornament_9:open()

I hope at least one of those works for you.
