Description
2024 Builder’s Contest

Compact village and small colony, but maximum size that my slow computer can manage.
My world doesn't contain large cities or landmarks, because of that I think this is a good representation of what a new casual player may achieve to build with a complete playthrough.

Visit the Library for some short snip Spooky lore about my world, the Colonists are trying to grasp what is happening around them.


⠀+- 1000 colonists combined.
⠀- Single player world.
⠀- No Addons.
⠀- No Cheats (flying included).
⠀- Science is not completely unlocked(felt like my playthrough was complete before that).
⠀- There is a housing shortage, so the colonists are cramped inside of the buildings.
⠀- Was playing on lowest graphical settings.





⠀Move around more easily by typing the commands:
  • /disableachievements

  • /setflight true
      *After this, you can press the "F" key to enable fly mode.

Points of interest:
    410 168 258
    ⠀Village square.
    389 257 -402
    ⠀Watchtower, fly everywhere, but do not enter the "One sided hill" territory. ⠀
    1004 171 -507
    ⠀"One sided hill" territory road, follow instructions and don't linger. ⠀
    801 170 -297
    ⠀The old mines, ones that are still open.
    45 166 -1162
    ⠀Marchlands, "Dark Waters" with the 'scattered' rail station.
    *After disabling achievements, you can teleport via the command: /teleport coords here

I agree that if there were ruins or small uncanny structures near the road just in sight, it would be good for lore, luring colonists into the landscape, maybe in future maps(like Dark Waters ruins). 
I will not work on this map anymore, but maybe in future game updates, new map the oddities will persist since it is in the landscape itself and can happen anywhere.

It was uploaded for a contest, and it looked fun to me to not make a fast-expanding world but a map that new people to the game would feel like they could improve like you did now with great ideas to add, instead of being scared away from  implossible large buildings. 
The lore talks about the landscape being weird, but what is spooky to me is that there is nothing visual to detect, only voices and some landscape oddities that will smooth out over time, you do not know where the bounderies are. It's a cheap way of saying I did not want to make large structures. 
I don't think every map has to do that, the emptyness is sometimes more spooky, there cannot be a man-made change in the landscape in one particular spot, and the ones that are there feel strange(bridge lamps being extiguist sometimes).

@ComputedFive39 I'm glad you had some fun and enjoyed the little story!
The lore was just a bonus, just a bit of extra fun building and connecting outposts, unplanned story telling over time placing more and more signs, no real visible connections apart from the ruins in Dark Waters swamp, the rail station was destroyed in the night by the landscape itself, dragged down and up till it was not visible anymore. 
Before you unlock Gliders in the game, you have to walk far to your outposts, some spoopy lore helped with immersion, especially when you just make the map for fun and no greater time is willing to be spent, The Tree village was a bit of dead game content of no importance, secluded in game and lore, barely had a connection to it.

Hello sir, great map!! had a lot of fun looking around and exploring :steamhappy:. Just a couple things I'm curious about. The Tree village area does it have anything to do with the main lore? Also is there more to the one side hill place besides the road? if not maybe a abandoned/wrecked village on the other side of the hill to add some more spookiness to the world.

Do you have plans to continue adding stuff to this map?
Was diggy diggy hole a reference to the yogscast because love it i it was!
