The Double Down Mk. V is the fifth installment of our hyper-jumper smuggler ship series!
Closer to the 15th iteration if you count all predecessors, including the Fortune's Gambit series upon which the Double Down series is based.

The primary goal of this build is a role-playing-friendly smuggler ship in the category of a light freighter with extreme jump capability and redundant systems aimed at occupant survival.

This is NOT a battleship, frigate, or any kind of combat-focused ship.
The DDMKV is armored in key locations, and does sport defenses beyond a token turret, but these systems are in place to ward off threats long enough to make a jump to a safe distance, or even to survive an encounter long enough to break orbit and then jump.

That said, we hope returning fans of the FG and DD platforms enjoy the changes and upgrades going from the Mk. IV to the Mk. V variants! We think you'll feel a little more at home in the stars!

Some changes have been to individually rename every thruster, battery, and jump drive in a way that makes reading the damage report terminals much easier. The names now signify which side of the ship the part is located, as well as its orientation to similar parts in the same section. This should make identifying damaged parts much faster in post-conflict repairs. The repair projector has of course been updated with the new blueprint.

The bulk of changes have been to implement some automation to aide in power/fuel economy, as well as cosmetic upgrades to make the ship feel more lived in, as well as a space-seasoned vessel.

No interior shots will be posted, as we want it to be a fun surprise for returning fans!
However, a basic floor diagram will be uploaded - minus the secret passages!

The hydroponics room by default has connections boarded up, and is meant to be used with the Plant & Cook mod that you can find HERE.

If anyone is wondering which DLC you need to use this, the answer is "YES."
