235 Letterbox Overlays

Description
Got these from the sfm beta files from MaxOfS2D. Includes 3 overlays as show by the pictures above. The one you'll must likely use is the 235mask_crop_vignette, which is shown in the first picture.

To Apply: In the timeline, scroll down to the effects tab. Right click and hit add clip to track, same as you would in the sound tab. A menu will pop up with several options. You want "add material overlay". A new clip will be created in the effects tab. Right click on the clip and select "show in element viewer." The clip will appear in the element viewer. Find the material for the clip and click the "..." button. A window similar to the model viewer will pop up that has every single .vmt or .vtf (one of those) files that your SFM has. Search "235" in the search filter and "workshop" in the mod filter and choose the one you want.
There's also a video up top that shows you exactly what to do, except you don't choose the same file he did. Jump to about 4 minutes to see how to add the overlay.

If any issues arise with this item, please let me know, although my skills are limited, so no promises.

that minute when you believe you just subscribed to two hundred and thirty five overlays. :awkward:

Even though I have the border set up correctly, when I render the overlay doesn't show up.

This is actually a problem I have as well. I could attempt to fix it, but the most immediate fix is to black out the bit in your editing program.

I'll try blacking out the bits that the overlayed missed in Sony Vegas. :tgrin: Better than rendering a 1+ minute long animation again.

I'm not sure then. My monitor is 1920x1080. Maybe mess around with the rendering settings?

My monitors set to 1080p too.

@Majestic Goose Shrimp, I rendered the project in 1080p with the bars and it works fine with me. Might be a problem on your end. It might depend on what resolution your monitor is or something but I'm not sure.

Tried rendering a project at 1080p, but it appears the bars aren't big enough and there's little gaps at the edge of the screen. Is this a problem on my end, or are the bars just designed for 720p and less? Thanks. <3

@ SamSpielberg Well at least it's a good guidline.
