EyeGenes2Lite is a mod that brings eye color patches to rimworld, it is an official fork of EyeGenes2
With most of the bells and whistles removed.

This is mostly for people who just want the eyecolor patches but not any of the extra genes that come with it.



What does it patch/change?
  • Patches the default Eyes_Red gene.
  • Patches the default Eyes_Gray gene.
  • Automatically detects certain mods and patches them to work with it.

Original mod intent, highly recommended.
This is what I personally use, other variations work as listed below but if nothing else I recommend this as well.
Not really a huge want, but it does give the mod cool icons.
Be able to see your pawn up close!

Can this be added/removed from the game safely?
This can be added to any existing save, and should cause no real issues being removed.

@Minus This mod patches the lids from the mods it patches to the eye category instead. At least that is how I remember it when I was looking at the xml in a tired haze. So they overlap because Reel's aren't patched in this mod at the moment

When I have this in the list with Reel's, Akerons, and VTE, this causes all, but Reel's to be in the eye category causing reel's lids to overlap with the other twos

(UNLESS) I've misunderstood - in which case, could I perhaps suggest adding additional eye genes to this lite mod? It would be nice to give custom races unique eye colours while using face mods, without commiting to all pawns spawning with randomised germline eyes like in the base edition. This lite version has given me back the red and grey genes of vanilla biotech which is a GODSEND but I dare to dream

"Automatically detects certain mods and patches them..." - can you clarify what this means? Which other mods? I'm using this mod to ensure that Hussars and Dirtmoles still have red and grey eyes with VTE Facial Animation (it does! Thank you). I thought I would be able to install another mod that adds a few eye colour genes for custom xenotypes and this mod would handle the implementation, but it didn't work with the one I tried ("Various Eye Genes"). Can you clarify?

It should not, I use EyeGenes2 and Performance fish in my own playthroughs, we do not change anything that performance fish should mess with.

sadly it seems to conflict with performance fish.
