This is the Open Beta version of LotR: Realms in Exile. For a more stable experience, please check out our latest public release.

Open Beta is supposed to be loaded on its own, and not alongside the main version.

LotR: Realms in Exile - Open Beta
Realms has always been driven by a passionate team dedicated to enhancing the immersive experience of Crusader Kings 3. We have poured countless hours into meticulously crafting a mod that transports you into Tolkien's world. And now, we are eager to invite you all to join us on this adventure. After two and half years of developing and testing behind closed doors, we are now exited to share our public open beta with you.

By moving to an open beta model, we hope to gather valuable feedback from a wider range of players at an early stage, allowing us to refine and polish Realms in Exile even further. Your insights and suggestions will no doubt play a vital role in shaping the mod's future, ensuring that it evolves in a direction that resonates with the desires of the community.

As we embark on the exciting journey of the Realms in Exile mod's public open beta, I want to emphasise that this build will always be hot code and so we expect there to be plenty of bugs, rough edges and unintended goings-on. While we have made every effort to ensure a stable and enjoyable experience, it's important to be aware that unexpected issues will arise during gameplay.

Again, if you prefer a more polished and refined playing experience, I would always recommend waiting for the official main releases of the mod on the main steam page.

As Aragorn, once you become king, Mordor immediately declares war on you with a 25k~ stack and there's no way to win, even with Theodred and putting all your money into the military with counters. It's also crashing when you load another save mid-game and quit the game. Maybe its an inside joke that without the fellowship you are supposed to lose.

I'm glad that the mod is back and running but it gets kind of boring with just the two bookmark eras. Also, there's a lot of issues that doesn't work and becomes frustrating. Such as unable to marry arwen to aragorn unless it's the computer. The wars occur randomly without actually showing it happening and the game doesn't show until a huge notification comes across your game and it's after it's been completed. And the no plague selection of the game rules doesn't work. Plagues still runs rampid and it does not allow you to come out of seclusion unless you start a war and combine armies. Help?????????????

Hirdman He used to be part of a big modding project for eu4 about iron age but he was kicked out because he tried to ban 50+ accounts for being Russian and he himself is Ukrainian.

Thank you for this fantastic mod this is the only reason why I still play CK3 in my opinion this mod is much more interesting than Agot or Elder Kings

There are no European cultures in the mod, stfu about caling Russians as Orcs, stop bringing the war into games.

Would it be possible to make a tiny mod that adds only the races to vanilla ck3? I wanna conquer Europe as an orc horde
