Description

A steel variant of the classic bronze colossus. More than just a change in material, these megabeasts are significantly larger than their bronze vanilla counterparts, and possess an emissive fire attack as well. The Smelter Demon from the game Dark Souls 2 was a big inspiration, for both the look and the body definition in the raw file!

I gave my best effort at making a half-decent sprite for the creature, but I am very much not a strong artist, and I definitely can't shade or highlight for the life of me. My color choices could probably be better too. Hopefully it's good enough for now, and won't stick out too much when walking among the vanilla creatures. I don't really plan to add anything else to this, other than if there are glaring issues I can fix, or if I can improve the sprite some day.

So, for anyone just looking for one more dangerous megabeast to roam their worlds and raise some hell, I hope you enjoy!

are these things even possible to kill I'm looking at one with 277 notable kills and 465 others and another that spawn camped the lord of one of the goblin civs they're awesome for making a high civ count feel sparse I love them

Oh yeah, and DFHack too, but then you're just using console commands at that point.

@Rubles - Supposing nothing broke from updates and they're spawning in the world, their lair is set to labyrinths and shrines, so they should try moving into those and attacking towns, etc near them like other megabeasts do. I didn't set a specific biome so they should be able to spawn anywhere. Admittedly, it would probably be easier to force an encounter once adventure mode is out in April, there's only so much one can do to that end in fortress mode. Sending squads out to raid shrines or labyrinths is probably the only thing right now.
