Description
The origin of the minotaurs is shrouded in mystery. Their history goes largely undocumented thanks to their hostility towards the scribes of history: humans, who once reared not only cattle, but minotaurs too. Today, minotaur civilisations can be found as far away from humans as possible — less-so for the minotaurs' safety, and more-so the humans’.

Features:
• 11 new genes that make up the minotaur xenotype;

• 7 fabled weapons with their own unique effects and sounds;
• 6 bovine tattoos and skin markings;

• Rock chunks can now be thrown as weapons if enabled in the Mod Settings!


The brash minotaurs are known for their ability to thrive in even the most bitter corners of the world thanks to their imposing strength, hardy stomachs and sturdy hooves. They go into heat every Aprimay and can digest haygrass with ease.






Minotaurs are known for their Herculean strength, reckless tempers and ability to 'See Red' when pushed to the edge. This buffs their combat abilities drastically and sends bystanders running for the hills.

In exchange for their short tempers, minotaurs possess a number of useful genes, and similarly to cows, they can be milked. (Lactation settings can be toggled per gender in the mod options.)









Pawns with the Herculean gene can equip weapons that others can’t, thanks to their immense strength and battle prowess. In 1.4, only uncraftable Herculean weapons were included in the mod, but in 1.5, we’ve included the Epsilon Axe to get your minotaurs started.



Aside from this, there are also the fabled Herculean weapons: battle-ending weapons of minotaur engineering, each with unique and powerful effects. These mythical weapons aren't craftable and are only obtainable through special means.









Included in the core version of Roo’s Minotaur Xenotype are six bovine tattoos and a selection of minotaur-crossbreed xenotype icons for your own custom xenos. For more cosmetics, like hairstyles and clothes, check out in Roo’s Minotaur Xenotype Expanded.



It’s likely that your colonists will find themselves nose-to-snout with a minotaur during their adventures. While some minotaur defect from their homes and choose to live in peace with other xenos, others find themselves forced there, either as slaves or as guardians.

Aside from the standard minotaur you’ll find integrated in various factions, you might also come across some special ones with unique qualities, backstories and weapons.



Q: Is this mod compatible with…?
A: Please check the compatibilities page.

Q: Do I need any other mods to use this?
A: Only Harmony and the Biotech DLC are needed to use this mod.

Q: Can I add this to an existing save?
A: Yes, but upon loading your save, enable "regenerate chunks" in the mod settings menu.

Q: I can't throw rock chunks.
A: You can enable weaponised chunks in the mod settings menu. Make sure to also select "Regenerate Chunks" and restart your game.

Q: I'm experiencing a bug.
A: Visit the bugs discussion page.

Q: What changed in the 1.5 update?
A: Check the 1.5 Change Log.

Q: Why don't minotaurs drop beef like VE's pigskins / insects?
A: Personal preference. The cannibalism thought infers that pawns oppose the concept of cannibalism, not the taste. So even if their meat is genetically engineered to be tasty, like beef, butchering any humanlike is still conceptually cannibalism.

Q: I’m a modder, how do I make Herculean items?
A: Add 'RBM_HerculeanClass' to its weaponClasses. Alternatively, use the parent class "HerculeanBase". You can also add it to the ThingCategory 'RBSFE_HerculeanWeaponsCategory' to appear alongside other herculean weapons.

To make apparel only equippable by Herculean pawns, add 'HerculeanApparel' to its apparel tags. You can also add it to the ThingCategory 'RBSFE_HerculeanApparelCategory' to make it appear alongside other herculean apparel.

The game can be loaded and played with this 1.5 mod active, but any pawns with the genes will not work and the items probably also wont work.
