Vampirism Mod - WIP

Description
Hello everyone,

Update for June 2025

I am re-working this Mod from top to bottom and for it to be usable in Build 42.

The code will be re-written and improved upon, some fundamental changes upcoming are below:

- Blood Level that progressively drops overtime, the higher the blood level the stronger you are but the more sunlight damage / fatigue hit you take.
- The ability to feed on animals and zombies (NPCs will be added at a later stage for human blood)
- Human blood is available in the world at specific locations with a certain drop chance (Blood packs)
- The ability to place siphoned blood into containers and keep them refrigerated for later
- Depending on the type of blood it gives more or less blood rating, zombie blood is infected so drink at your own risk.

-----CURRENT MOD DETAILS------
- The Vampire Professions boost Strength/Agility/Fitness/Sprint Speed depending on the one picked
- The Sunlight Sensitivity Trait causes you to take damage whilst outdoors after dawn and before dusk, the time you take damage depends on when dawn/dusk is for the current season.
- Minor sensitivity is the same as above but is half the damage for half the points
- Extreme sensitivity is 50% more damage that the "normal" trait and gives 5 more points
- Vampires take reduced sunlight damage whilst inside a vehicle
- Dymanic damage reduced from the sun when weather effects are in play (Clouds/Rain etc)

I did think about this, what I will do is create a new mod for B42, keep this one the same for those who are still using it.

Yeah I've been trying to do a weather system but for now it's set to to he day/night time. I'll go through and update descriptions and roadmap soon

Mmmm, I'd love to have a harvesting ability. Right now I combine this with Cataclysm Professions Cannibal, lets me feed on zombie corpses and harvest safe meat from them. Recutting that with new graphics and lore, or somehow using a shadow/shade system for sun protection, would be *amazing*.

I can also dream of a custom skin or the like, grey skin and red eyes, but that's a lot more work, and I refuse to be greedy here. Your work is excellent, and I'd be happy to help.

Just to say I have been playing around with this again, and I will be doing a complete revamp of this mod, its likely the old code will be re-written completely.

Those do sound like really good ideas! I'd also recommend the ability to extract blood into a container, or a toggle for car roofs preventing damage entirely (off by default, but only included IF the other toggles are and you want to)

Yeah I had a couple of ideas around that, 1 - the more blood you consume, the more powerful you become, the less you consume the less powerful you are, however you are more hurt by sunlight if you are more powerful. 2 - zombie blood is infected and has a chance to make you sick and isn't as fulfilling as NPC/Survivor blood. 3 - Animal blood again is about as useful as zombie blood, maybe less so but isn't infected. Its not like some vampire lore where just the fact its 4am means its daylight etc, if you can't see the sun or its obscured by weather you are less hurt by it, cars will prevent damage to an extent etc, however this could be a toggle so you could go hardcore mode where just being out after 4am will hurt you. Just a brain dump of my ideas right now

With the introduction of animals, some kind of Animal Succulence perk (or just plain ability) would be amazing. Even more if there's a quality to the blood you consume. Zombies are the weakest, animals a bit better, then humans if you have PvP or NPC survivors to feed on.
