Early 1900s Ocean Liner [EARLY WiP]

Description
This is a VERY early work in progress of this, there are a lot of issues that need sorting out. The screenshots attached show the best angles of the ship, the stern is quite ugly for right now (and to be honest I'm not sure I'll be able to fix it even when she's complete).

I am proud to say this is the first build this size I've done that actually is sea worthy, and her engine is all properly connected, so she should work (albeit she uses three steam pistons, which I clearly don't understand, as they currently don't want to work together).

UPDATE 1:
I honestly don't remember everything I've changed, but I'll list what I do remember): I added an additional steam escape in an attempt to prevent the boilers from exploding, though it didn't actually work. I'll explain further in a sec.

I've also started on a passenger interior, extending the lowest deck of the main stairwell to stretch the full length of the hull. I've also toyed with adding a second passenger deck below it, and I do think I will add one bow and stern. One problem I have been having is that the passenger areas aren't watertight, and I don't actually know why. I'll keep looking, but it's an issue with the previous build of the ship, as well.

Feel free to have a look yourself, PLEASE let me know if you find the hole so I can fix it for the following updates.

I've also added the docking bridge to the stern as well as telegraphs to the bridge (though they don't currently function) and actually smoothed and connected a lot of the stern decks so they can actually be traversed.

I also finished painting the exterior decks, using a cheat-y wood plank texture learnt from Frantic's builds, which is easier and better on lag than paint blocks.

The boiler/engine rooms:

So, I'll be honest: this hasn't changed much. I will actually be completely overhauling this in a future update, creating genuinely separated boiler rooms and decorating both them and the engine rooms, along with probably adding crew bunks towards the prow. I've also been toying with the idea of making her a two-engine ship, giving her two double-expansion reciprocating steam engines instead of just the one.

I intend to make this configuration actually work, first, though, so I can learn how the steam pistons actually work.

The ship does still function(-ish) i the meantime, though:
Once the boilers are up to pressure, W/S on the helm will control the throttle of the engine, which again, is a little bit broken. A/D control the rudder (and control fins under the keel for additional control).

Update 2/3/4 (no clue, it gets updated almost daily):

Work begins on the Tanktop interior! Three double ended boilers and two single ended boilers to power the vessel, none of which work at the moment. That will be fixed soon(-ish).

I've removed all the piping for now, so no more operational vessel, though she was never particularly good to begin with. I've also moved the engines forward and (temporarily) removed the recondensers.

Feel free to pipe her up yourself if that's the sort of thing you enjoy, I'd love to hear what kind of speeds you can get out of her.

I've also edited the lifeboats so they shouldn't list/capsize anymore, and the forward two lifeboats now can be moved! That particular update won't be added to the rest, the forward two are intended to be excursion boats, so they have hand-cranked motors.

To operate them, hold 'e' or 'q' and press 'enter,' then release the key and press enter again. Sit in the farthest aft seat (so you can reach the tiller) and use the button you aren't using to control the motor to steer the boat. Have fun!

There are more updates, as well, but I can't remember or be bothered to list them. I'll update the screenshots when I have more to upload, I don't generally think about it.

Oh, and feel free to play with the "Sink" button (2 on the helm). I forgot to disable that, I was testing how I might make something work. So I guess she's got a little bit of playability. She just doesn't move yet.

I don't really have much more to say. Enjoy the build!

Okay, one more thing to add since the recent update: after the recent changes made, I feel that by the next upload she will be complete enough to not require the "Early WiP" handle, so this file won't be getting any more updates. For the next update, she will be reuploaded as S.S. Lavinia. She still isn't close to complete, but she's a hell of a lot closer than she was when I uploaded her. So, yeah. Enjoy this build! The next one will take a few days, and hopefully have a lot more to do and to explore!
