ACT AGM-2 Falchion

The AGM-2 Falchion is a short medium range missile, adapted for air to surface engagements. It can be used for air to air, although its effectiveness against targets moving fast and perpendicular to it is quite poor. The Falchion excels at engaging surface targets, either land or sea, at ranges up to ~4.5 km. This range places it in the "short medium" range category, as opposed to full medium range. With its large explosive charge, it is devastating against all kinds of targets, large or small. The Block III upgrade also provides a new contact detonator, as well as improved tracking and range over the Block II.

The Falchion's large size means it must be used with a relatively large launch platform, but it has a long range for a munition its size and simplicity. The Falchion can be integrated fairly easily to existing vehicles, but it is designed to be launched from the RLU-1 missile pylon. The Falchion can also be found in a surface launched variant, called the BGM-2.

The name "Falchion" is derived from the heavy short sword class, as like the common falchion, the AGM-2 claps cheeks.
