Obsidia Expansion - Legacy Collection
16 items
Description

This texture pack includes most textures for Obsidia Expansion, exported into 2x-4x the size of original textures. What used to be blurred before, now will be clearer, even if zoomed in fully using mods by the likes of Camera+.

This texture pack includes:
  • Gear
  • Resources
  • Pawns
  • Flora
  • Icons

Intended for use with:

Works with any of these mods individually, as well as with all of them at the same time.
  • Obsidia Expansion
  • Obsidia Expansion - Ideology Style Pack
  • Obsidia Expansion - Mothoids Xenotype
  • Obsidia Expansion - Tortle Xenotype
  • Obsidia Expansion - Arachnas Xenotype

Q: Is the original Obsidia Expansion mod required to work?
A: No. This texture pack now works with any of these mods individually, as well as with all of them at the same time.

Q: The mod uses too much RAM, textures are too big, etc.
A: Yes it is! The mod has high system requirements. In the original mod the textures are 256px (compressed but large enough for the original game) but this texture pack uses the original 1280px textures.

Q: Is this mod CE compatible?
A: Just like the core mod - Obsidia Expansion.

Q: Will this mod work on 1.0, 1.1 or another game version?
A: Mod only supports the versions stated in the description.

Q: Is this a completed mod?
A: No, the mod is still under development and will periodically receive updates with new content.

Q: Is this mod save game compatible?
A: Yes, you can add it and remove it whenever you like.

Q: In what order should mods be loaded?
A: This mod should be loaded after Obsidia Expansion.

Starting today. Bug reports posted outside the proper thread will, unfortunately, be ignored.
Thanks for your understanding.

I love this mod but I have to admit that it is quite badly optimised, it takes up 5 gb of ram (with the DDS conversion already applied).

(RimPy and their texture optimization tool has saved me personally)

@Ice Cream Butt since the 14th my pack has only gone up in mods lmao, I doubt it is under 8 now and am unsure I could nail all of what I had around 500. Every mod will have a different amount of usage especially if it's adding a lot of new things, though this HD retexture's weight comes from the textures being too high a resolution for the game.

@feet wizard wow whats your modpack? i cant even get to 200 without memory probs :(
freak 14 Mar, 2024 @ 7:55pm
This bumps up my RAM usage to almost max, my modpack of 500 is under 8GB usage without it. Something is definitely wrong.

Goddamn, this mod alone is heavier than the rest of my modlist combined (207 mods).

Massive memory leak, which makes game load 3-4 times longer than usual, and ends up crashing anyway. Please fix.
