So I tried both of your possible fixes and it seems to have marginally worked, the crashes are a lot less frequent, but battles are still problematic. Waiting around 15 seconds before ending any battles, deleted preferences from the appdata and nothing is a solid fix. I found when playing Gondor the crashes are exactly the same, pretty much a crash after every fight, either before the fight or directly after forcing me to auto resolve, and then most of the time the game even crashes on auto resolves, this is specific to Gondor.

A lot of crashes stop if you wait 10 or so seconds before beginning and exiting a battle because the engine needs time to load and finalise the results.

The other other possible fix is : Delete the preferences folder in C:\Users\YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME\AppData\Local\Feral Interactive\Total War ROME REMASTERED\VFS\Local\Rome
Sometimes that will refresh your game and stop the crashes.

If it still keeps happening, come on the discord and post your error log so we can have a look and see if there is anything fixable!

Crashes constantly after every battle, every campaign, regardless of the length of the campaign. Always after every battle. The only way around this is to auto resolve, and even then the game will crash periodically at random points. I haven't been able to play more than 30 minutes without a crash in the entirety of playing with this mod. It's an incredible mod when it's working, but I don't know how to stop the crashing. Any ideas?

The game keeps crashing every time I try to enter a battle or a siege. I’m playing with the Noldor Elves, around turn 20. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it crashes.

Could this be related to certain generals, or maybe to modified army stats from the blacksmith level 2?

@Holyshot There are a couple of things you can do to delay the issue:
1. Disable Good vs Evil Superfactions
2. Reload the game as often as possible to make the AI rethink what it is doing. Battling counts as a reload so if you're battling every turn, the campaign AI is a bit better.

Unfortunately, Rome Remaster campaign AI will always develop this problem unless it is patched in the future
