This Mod is now included in the main Mantodean Mod, Sig has given me permission to take over from them going forward. I will leave this one here to keep save games from crashing if need be. Please go to this mod for future updates.

Mantodean Simple Buildings

Adds simple buildings for mantodeans and research to unlock them. Also includes my Chemjelly and Mantodean Componnent resources so that this mod can use them without requiring my Mantodean Simple Weapons mod. This mod is meant to be played with the Mantodean Race and the Mantodean Egglayer mods. My own mod Mantodean Simple Weapons is optional to give greater choice.

The buildings in this mod are made from Mantodean Jelly and sometimes Chemjelly and Blue Jelly or even Rburn Jelly.

Textures in this mod were designed using the original Mantodean Race mods building design concepts to match.

Whats Included

This mod adds 1 research bench, 3 temperature buildings and 4 production buildings.

This mod adds several buildings to give a more mantodean feel when playing neolithic level games. The first building is the Jelly Research Bench which is functionally the same as the regular simple research bench.

There are several crafting benches included that mirror the options present on their corresponding vanilla benches such as the Butcher Table, Crafting Table (crafting spot), Art Table, and Stonecutters Table (In development).

A passive cooler for mantodeans has been added called a Jelly Cooler, as well as a Large Jelly Cooler based off of the large passive cooler from Vanilla Factions - Neolithic that can keep a small to medium room just about freezing.

A passive heater has been added for mantodeans.

This mod also includes my Mantodean Simple Weapons mods component and chemjelly so that this mod does't need to rely on my previous mod to use it.

Chemjelly:

Chemfuel and Mantodean Jelly mixed together. Used to better integrate chemfuel into mantodean weapons, items and buildings. Contains a considerable amount of chemical energy more than sufficient to use as a fuel source.

Mantodeans produce this material in response to advanced societies of their prey using chemfuel to power weapons and explosives used against the hive.

Mantodean Component:

Biological components of more advanced hives arranged together for easy assimilation into other mantodean weapons, items and buildings.

Mantodeans disassemble other races components for rare materials they cannot easily make themselves apply mutagens, mantodean jelly and chemjelly to make these biological components.

These components appear to others like pupa, hard shelled living parts in a state of torpor, until integrated into other biological structures. Once within the item, weapon or building they're used in the components mutate within the pupa and then assume the form they need to take within the structure.

Plans for the future:

  • Add a mantodean Stonecutting Table. (Mostly done just working on some figety bits.)
  • Add a tailoring bench.
  • Add some more furniture including a 2x1 table and maybe a 3x3 one as well, another chair option, Nightstand option, dresser option, plant jar option and a jelly bed option.
  • Add research properly for current items.
  • Add more security buildings such as a mantodean "sand bag", low barricade and an embrasure option if possible.
  • Add mantodean based recreation options.
  • Add a new Mantodean "stone block" made from any stone chunk and mantodean jelly, called Propolis for advanced buildings.
  • Add a more advanced wall option using Propolis for a stronger wall option.
  • More advanced buildings for later game mantodeans.

    F.A.Q.

    Q: Is it compatible with CE?
    A: No. not at this time... or maybe it is I haven't tested and its just buildings.

For the moment I'm only working on giving them benchs to fit with the vanilla options. My thought is that when you mix a mantodean hive with other humanoids as some do this will allow you to keep the mantodean theme while you do that, or to allow you to easily make trade requests while still using the mantodean theme. Things like that.

Clothing I hadn't given much of a thought of since Mantodean's don't wear clothing and their mutagens are meant to make up the differences, though with some of the ideology and royalty dlc bits I can see a good reason to make some clothes specific to them. I'll give it a good long think for sure.

I'm so happy you're enjoying my additions to the Mantodean race. I adore them and have so much planned for the future. (I also hope Sig and Smith enjoy what I add here. I'm so thankful to both of them.)

love how much work you have been putting into this species, really fleshing them out in their uniqueness. I also saw that you plan to do a tailoring bench, does that mean Mantodean specific apparel is possibly in the future?
