Description

I'm back!!

(Huck, spit.)

Yes, I return. This time finishing my first helicopter! This is the Spark Stratolifter HL-2. A heavy lifting helicopter for all your needs.

This Skycrane is capable of lifting other vehicles, cargo, containers, water buckets and even some ships!
(Although containers aren't recommended, do something heavier lol.)

STARTUP PROCEDURE
1. Make sure the power breaker is on at the back of the cockpit centre console (on by default).
2. Start the compressors.
3. Set the throttle to at least 60 or more to start flight. (40 is for idle power generation).
4. Turn off the rotor brakes. (Small switch on the front console)
5. Turn off the compressor as it is not needed.
5. Allow the rotors to spin to at least 65 rps, and then you can take off.
(If you are carrying a payload, it is recommended to turn on autohover and fly at 70 percent throttle).

FEATURES
- High Lift Capacity
- Wide Assortment of Connectors
- Taxi Motor and Steering
- 75% waterproof (can fly half underwater up till engine intakes)
- 5 Seats

Max Flight Weight - ~100 Tonnes.
Max Flight Speed - ~200km/h.
Max Range - ~90km without bladder or, ~240km with bladder.

BACKGROUND
Fictional
Designed and built after the XL1 "Stratolifter", the HL2 Stratolifter, is the first of it's kind to enter service in the Spark line. The Spark company started developing prototypes for the XL1 heavy lifting prototype helicopter, after a critical need for lifting increasingly heavy loads around the Sawyer Islands became apparent in recent years. The XL1 (Experimental Lift Prototype - 1) demonstrated these abilities over the duration of the program, however it struggled to deliver in raw lifting performance. Hence, the XL2 initiative. The XL2 having 3 times the engine power, and a larger XML edited rotor, saw massive performance gains, albeit at a cost of fuel consumption. With the success of the program the XL2 was then given the designation HL2 "Stratolifter" (Helicopter Lifter) and rushed into service.

I know the fuel economy is pretty terrible on this. 2KL/M is high. I get it lol.
This fixes that issue.[http//%26lt%3Bhttps]

Right.

Well you should be informed that this helicopter was not designed with that in mind.

This helicopter was made for at least a 2 man crew.

One pilot.
And one ground or crane operator

But whatever floats your boat.

Just don’t upload please

Nice build. Of course I had to make some "improvements", mainly adding flight control ability to crane operator station (collective, yaw and pitch).

'ppreciate it.

I look forward to the HL-3 already. :D But either way this Work Horse beast helicopter is the most utilised helicopter to have in Stormworks. I can't find any other Skycrane that can do what this beast does. Well Done Mate!

Will definitely try to address that in an HL-3 release.

:eaglegag:
nice.

Also, regarding the container loading issues, I can't seem to put my finger on it.

I was able to load containers alright during my own pre release testing. But, the game's physics engine has not been kind to the rope mechanisms.

So that can definitely introduce discrepancies.
