Vain Facade (playtesting)

Description
Playtesting mod for Vain Facade custom expansion.
Decks on this mod are considered to be in Beta. They've been extensively tested by me and tested by others as well. They have placeholder art, including all cutouts. They may require minor tweaks but are not expected to change unless issues arise. I am conservative on my designations, so what I call Beta, most would probably consider finalized. Additionally, I won't consider any deck finalized until it's fully arted. As I am not an artist, this will be quite a while.
Music for Environments and Villains is done.
Decks in earlier states are available on my TTS mod. Once decks are finalized, I'll put them up on another mod.

Currently available:
Heroes:
Arctis - A hero who can freeze water and water vapor into weapons and armor.
Banshee - A hero trapped between worlds who channels the power of death through song.
Burgess - A police detective trying to do his job in the hectic world of heroes and villains.
Carnaval - A former spy turned trickster who fights crime with traps and theatrics.
Ember - A reluctant hero from the past who can summon fire.
Friday - A shapeshifting war machine that can copy powers as well as appearances.
Glyph - A magic-using vigilante specializing in symbology who hunts the forces of darkness to restore the balance.
Haste - A hero who can fold time to move supernaturally fast.
The Fury - A vengeful spirit who bends probability until it breaks.
Node - A telepath specialized in creating and manipulating psychic networks.
Peacekeeper - The recipient of a flawed supersoldier serum that turned his blood toxic.
Push - A powerful hero that can convert waves to motion, but has difficulty directing that force safely.
Sphere - A narcissistic anti-hero with the ability to generate different types of forcefields.

Environments:
Bastion City - A clean, bustling city concealing strange and sinister secrets.
Eldrenwood Village - A quaint country town with a dark secret. Travelers often go missing there on the nights of the full moon.
The Midnight Bazaar - A goblin market full of fae that will eagerly deal with the heroes or the villains. Buyer beware.
Paradise Isle Grand Hotel - A luxurious beach hotel that conceals dark secrets.

Villains:
The Baroness - A vampire with centuries of experience defeating foes via physical strength and magic (difficulty 4 - intended to be very difficult but engaging and hard to predict)
Blitz - A former college football player doomed to attract electricity, who now directs his rage toward taking down 'fake heroes' like the one who caused his predicament. (difficulty 2)
Doomsayer - A sinister stranger who inserts himself into the lives of others and twists both words and fates (difficulty 2)
Grandfather - A time-traveler from the future who just won't stop messing with the past (difficulty 3)

However, in some cases some of my cards have been pretty irritating on digital even with that option, and I've made some changes for playability, which I could do here. I'm not sure what to change, though. I recently changed Fury's Allotted Time card for something similar. Since it's rare to want to heal a villain (except the Dreamer), I made an option to only prompt for hero targets, which the card will remember for some time. I forget how long. I could potentially do something like that here, but I don't understand what the individual options would be. I'm also not sure I follow the interaction that you're seeing. Cryogenic Blood would prompt for Cold Front and multiple copies of Defensive Combat, which is going to be 4 different prompts if you have 2 Cold Fronts and 2 Defensive Combats. Each prompt answer can be saved for the rest of the game. All that can be annoying each round, but it sounds like you're saying the Defensive Combat is somehow making Cold Front prompt more?

What happens with Cloud of Bats and Zhu Long exactly? I'll look into it but it might be hard to replicate.

For Arctis, this is sort of an artifact of how digital handles choices. There's a built in option in digital to help with this a bit: When you click for the damage reduction you can hold the button on No and it will charge up to give you options for the rest of the round or the rest of the game. If you pick the rest of the game it will last until you hit undo. Undo resets the option. That can help with some of these over-prompting issues.

Also, when Arctis (who's incredible) gets multiple copies of Defensive Combat out, the damage reduction from Cold Front gets asked about multiple times, and each time it resets. It's a little nerve-wracking, trying not to lose Cryogenic Blood, etc.

I love this one, but I've discovered that if the Baroness loses a bunch of bats in the Temple of Zhu Long with Resurrection Ritual out, the game struggles to handle what to do with them.

Glad to hear it! Out of curiosity, how do you feel about Hot Pursuit and To Serve and Protect? People have been pretty mixed on those cards.

Burgess is my top 1 hero in this whole game. Thank you so much, brother. He's the only hero I know that can flush out Missinformation real quick with his clue cards. Love him! this man is truly beautiful, no homo.

Carnaval/Suspicious Body Double has been tweaked so you can't use it to auto-win against the Dreamer anymore. Also made its effect optional so you won't accidentally take out heroes with it through a top-play, etc., now.

Fixed the Doomsayer/Suspicious Body Double interaction. I think the changelog says it most succinctly, so I'll just repost what I wrote there:

-Fixed a weird Doomsayer / Carnaval interaction where Suspicious Body Double could move Doomsayer under it and immediately win:
-Suspicious Body Double now only works on non-indestructible targets, which was always the intent
-Doomsayer's Proclamations now prevent players from winning, so if players somehow cover him up with another card that works similarly, he'll end up in the trash but keep on going. It's not worth the trouble to keep him from being moved to the trash when he has enough effects that shuffle decks and pull out targets.

D: Well, that's not supposed to happen. Thanks for letting me know. I could add "and the players cannot win" to Proclamations, but then Doomsayer would still go to the trash, which isn't ideal. I'll have to think about this.
