If you think you are low on Willpower before entering Chapter V I recommend that you change your decision in Final Preparations .
Instead of Adressing the people with a speech, which cost -10 Willpower, you can choose to Bide your time to recuperate. Since the good Rebel ending trigger on a justice of 7 at least it should be ok.
Those were the first guides I wrote and I wrote them almost back to back using the same template, I apologize for any mistakes that went through my writting.
Have a good day
What did you do in order to get enough willpower?
Manipulation +1
Dorius Otton +1
Willpower -5
That has Willpower end up 5 less all the way through thereafter, which resulted in me getting down to Willpower -10 at The Rebel Leader: Overthrow Sophia, and unable to do Hearth and Home: Kill the Leader
There are other problems as well, like
Arrival in the Capital. Meet the noble youths
Diplomacy +1 (from 11 to 12)
Manipulation +1 (from 10 to 11)
Willpower -5 (from 20 to 15)
Luke's Sermon. Resist him
Diplomacy +1 (from 11 to 12)
That does get corrected later in The First Case, but still...
Here is an alternate path I took because I couldn't stand not helping Sophia against Otton:
- Instead of 'hide alone', cover for her (this will short you on 5 willpower)
- Instead of hanging out with the noble youths in the college, go partying (this will give you 5 surplus willpower and make up for the difference, but you'll miss out on diplomacy and manipulation)
- Instead of investing in the house, invest in the library (thus going back to the guide's predicted willpower, but giving you diplomacy and manipulation bonuses, as well as other stats)
i also made some choice in the middle that gave me +1 manipulation instead of what was predicted, therefore evening it out faster, but not sure which one it was - so I think I may have come out with surplus manipulation!
My two previous attempts ended with dying early so this guide has been immensely helpful.
The Willpower is barely enough to overthrow Sofia (0) if you closely followed the guide. In others words, if you choose for other choices where the guide suggest you can do so, which results in less Willpower than the choice the guide goes for, you will need to make up for the amount for the Willpower short of.
Well done. You get an award.
In "Mustering the Forces" (early) and "The Final Hour" I chose to recover Willpower. This was needed for to overcome Sofia and win the final battle. This allowed achieving the same results as described in the guide.
