Mod summary
The Kanga Medical mod aims to give more meaning to Ark’s death mechanics. Death will be something you’ll want to avoid, as it will cost you xp. You can get (part of) it back, but you will have to make some preparations first in order to do so. Wounds and illnesses will not be cured by death anymore. It is important to be well prepared.
The Kanga Medical mod also introduces up to 30 different illnesses. Some of those will cure themselves over time, others will require bedrest, elixirs or surgery. Illnesses are level based and either triggered by being near a certain tamed dinos or structure (e.g. compost bin), or occur randomly. All illnesses add visual effects that gradually get worse until the illness is cured.
In the Kanga Medical mod the player has an overall Wellness Stat. This stat basically represents how well your immune system is functioning: the higher your Wellness Stat, the lower the chance you’ll get an illness, and vice versa. The Wellness Stat is a combination of 8 different sub stats. There are several mechanics that can make a sub stat drop, and some simply drop over time.
This mod adds a significant amount of challenge to your game. Using the mods mechanics to prepare in advance (before death/ getting sick) is an important thing to keep in mind.

  • 60+ craftable items such as illness elixirs, medical syrups, bandages, medical kits and poisons.

This mod is in active development. Occasional updates may occur.

Technical details
Requirements
The Kanga Core Library Mod is a prerequisite for all Kanga Mods and needs to be higher in the load order than all Kanga Mods.
Highly customizable
This mod has a number of ini settings available to adjust things to your liking.
Mod compatibility
This mod is compatible with most other mods.
Mods that remap dinosaurs (e.g. Krakens Better Dinos) will need some ini changes to make them work together.
Kanga Medical works very well with Kanga Husbandry, as some of the items from that mod are used in Kanga Medical.

It looks like the last update has an unintended dependency on Kanga Husbandry. This should be fixed soon.

since last update, i got some kernel in single player... i deleted & reinstalled kanga library & medical but still crash

It's cool to have the Wellness UI open with H, but, it doesn't follow the option clients have to make the extended hud be toggled by H, instead of held. Can something be done to make that an option in this mod too?

Hey, I've been trying to make the Medical Pain Killer consumable and it won't allow me to. I then tried to admin it in but I couldn't find it on the admin list.

You don't need to prepare the cot, that is a part of the mechanics built to work with the stretcher but currently that has been removed. Hopefully some of those mechanics will be added back later.

@Beardo - We're experiencing a bug on our server with the Dilo Poison Glands. We're running Kraken's Better Dinos and Paleo Ark Expansion, and I've set those variants accordingly in the INI, but the option to harvest their Poison Glands doesn't show. I've made INI changes with other dino variants from these and other mods including Crystal Isles Dino Addition, and they show, but so far we're 300 days in and still have no Dilo Poison Glands... One thing I can think of is that there may be a typo in the INI setting on the Kanga website, thus it's entered incorrectly on my end, but it's the only INI setting that I've cought that's not taking an effect... The option to harvest simply isn't showing even when holding E...

There is a DebugDisplayHerbCount that could be turned on in the INI settings if you wanted, this is not for normal game play but it will give you a count of the number of each herb plant that exist on the map.
Alternatively I'd suggest you join our discord, I can help you quicker there.
