Update 12 Oct 20222:
  • Added option to set required total traits
  • Fixed a bug where the player could have leftover trait points (You can still have 1 trait point left over if there are no 1 cost positive traits available!)

Update 11 Sept 2022:
  • Added sandbox options
  • Added more safety for perks to prevent negative and unused perk points
  • Added more fixes for multiplayer charcter creation and fixed some bugs with respawning in-game
Update 26 May 2022: Now randomization will use up ALL perk points!

Update 22 Jan 2022 PART 2: Fixed bug with profession random. Added arandomcharclothesmod (players can no longer choose clothing)
Update 22 Jan 2022: Removed ability to LOAD characters. Added a no-way-out functionality, player cannot hit back anymore and must accept their character.

Players can now ONLY create random characters.
You can randomzie 5 times MAX, so decide well and early, before you get the 5th one and land with blind deaf guy with expertise in guns and driving.

This is just another way to play zomboid. This is intended for multiplayer, with random people playing as random survivors.

I like playing with randomized characters. It removes a lot of min-maxing and meta gameplay, along with the XP modifier mod, I play with random characters, it makes every playthrough completely different. As sometimes I get a highly skilled character right off the bat and level up slowly or sometimes I get a deaf guy who is the strongest person in the world and levels up fast because he is not that skilled at first. Would be nice if it were possible to go back to previously generated characters. Maybe use the "saved character" system to make a temporary list for players to choose from?

I could click host and then my hosting client had it working and the client I used to connect.

Try to confirm that the mods are loading correctly.
Use the mod manager Server mod to configure your server mods.

Does this mod work online with friends? i host a game with this mod enabled but i notice im not forced to have random traits.. they are still picked with freewill.

The required negative trait means it will have at least 1.
But you may always randomly receive more.

I have added a TOTAL REQUIRED perk sandbox option now.
The current settings are effectively MIN settings, however there is no MAX, so if your MIN is at 1, you can still get more than 1 negative perk.

The way it works, I would have to restart the character creation if the perk count goes over MAX.
It works like this:
- Choose proffession
- Add random negative perks until positive trait score (and required negative trait count)
- Add random positive traits until trait score 0
Now it will repeat the last 2 steps until the required total perk count is reached.

A wonderful mod. But is it possible to make a random number of negative traits so that not a fixed number is set, but the minimum and maximum allowable? A configurable range of the number of random negative traits would make even more variety.
