With this mod, pawns are no longer immortal beings.
Instead, they too have lifespans, like us mortals.


By default, a pawn will live to be 65-90 years old (This can be configured in the settings page, and includes a scaling option for modded races). After they reach a set age, you will receive a notification informing you that they are getting old.
Any time after, the pawn will eventually die of old age, and cannot be resurrected after this.

Would it be possible for this to work with Faster Aging? I was hoping it would but unfortunately, after my colonist has reached 90 years old, it doesn't seem I ever got a notification of old age creeping up on them

I love the idea of the mod, but each time I restart the game, no matter if it ended proper or not, the checkbox "Scale for Races" somehow gets unticked.

will this effect pawns who are more machine than flesh? i really dont want to invest in a complete body overhaul just to have my pawn clock out at 71

Awesome:chocola2:!!! This is exactly what I need. Hopefully a trait can be added to make specific colonists immune to old ageing.
You know, some races like elves do live a long time.:cinnamon2:

god sent mod. finally nadia(96 age old and her got son and grand daughter and grand grand son and grand grand grand son) can rest in peace, literaly. thanks modder. really it helped for narrative. bullets can be avoided from save and loads, but mortal isn't.

btw do you have any plans to make pawn's hair turn to white as get older? It's hard to pay attention to dyeing.

This is nice! Something in between the instant heart attack and the Time Kills mod to help generational colonies work better.

Also not sure why people are being nitpicky, vanilla may have heart attacks, some aging diseases and life expectancy but it’s incredibly common for even tribal people to live decades beyond that. Not very immersive for the medieval generational playthroughs I like lol

I don't know why people are being nitpicky about this. The dietary and hereditary dictators for dying of old age are not in the game, there's no system for the array of actual illnesses that kill people later on in life (that can't be otherwise cured in Rimworld). This simulates it without asking a coder to do a bunch of extra work, bug testing and it's good enough for me.

You can change the times a pawn will die of old age in settings. Read the description. If you're not comfortable with 60 - 90, you can change this.

Theres no cases in real life of someone dying "of old age", just complications caused by old age.

As for a 90 years old cyborg taking ages to die; considering theres people in real life, although rare, who are up about and still somewhat active at 90 without mechnical parts, I would say that is extremly reasoneble.
