Goooood morning Blackreef!
[or alternatively insert quote from a time loop game you like]

This mod adds a building to the game which creates a time loop. Simple enough. To make this mod actually interesting, however, some things will be preserved between loops. Research will always be preserved, but the mod also adds an implant which will let pawns remember their social relations/opinions, joy meter, joy tolerances, mood, prisoner status (yes, this does mean you can torture prisoners in an endless loop to enslave them), ideology, skills, and thoughts!

When a pawn dies in the loop, they will forget everything except their ideology, skills, and social relations. This could work to your detriment, or to your advantage. Either way, they won't be very happy about it.

If you want your time loop to take place over more time, you can change it. However, the time loop device will use exponentially more power over that time, so choose carefully. The formula for power usage is "(2.5^x) * 50000" where x is the number of days in your loop.

FAQ
Q: I want x to be preserved between loops!
A: As I couldn't possibly add everything that everyone wants to be preserved without annoying somebody, I've put all of the things that are preserved between loops in the form of xpath inside the loop building's XML file. If you want to add (or remove) something from the list of things that are preserved, you can create a patch to change the list. You'll need to look inside a save file to determine what path you'll need to add.

If you'd like to help improve the mod, leave a suggestion in the comments and I'll try to look at it!
Also, the mod should have good compatibility with other mods since it leverages the save system. If you're having a compatibility issue with another mod (or an issue with the mod in general), report it in the bug reports discussion :)

this mod was awesome, can somebody update it to 1.6?
it would be awesome to have a time loop in space.

Here's a idea, why not have a upgraded version or something that instead of looping works like the time displacement equipment from the terminator franchise? How it can function is when used you can select a pawn and save file and with a very large amount of power to run the thing it will essentially load the chosen save file.. with that selected pawn or pawns imported into it. It's a one way trip and the pawn fully remembers. As a result you now have two save files, the old one the pawn left which now lacks them but can still be played and the new one thats effectively a new 'timeline' due to the pawn going to the past save and can be played from there. Could even keep relationships if the pawn is related to existing pawns since it's technically still the same save, just earlier in the playthrough. Maybe a implant or building they can take that adds the future saves research to the colony

this needs a 1.5 update, my game is incomplete without time travel

great!

and, here's an idea:

multiple brain implants. Some allow retaining of memories and mood, (at some sort of cost. Images of the future, which can drive you temporarilly insane? A more basic one causes just the body to survive, but wipes everything (to pre-loop standard), or keeps memories, but skills are damaged (Or, more realisticly, the other way around))

will things like bionics be kept if they are brought back?

Could there be a way to reduce the power increase curve or having some option to reduce the power drain?

I want to build a colony around a time loop but for now my only options for a loop lasting a week (even after reducing the power draw to 250 by editing the xml) are spamming debug functions or mods that give literal infinite energy and I wish to accomplish it without using either of theses
