Description
What is Dust?

Dust is my own ongoing project to create a more distinct visual appeal & setting based loosely on the vanilla setting, but with heavily revised story & geopolitical aspects that fit with the campaign this mod was originally meant to support, but for the most part, think of it as another repository of gear to draw from for your own content or ideas as well!

Content

Alongside a hefty lineup of infantry equipment & vehicles, there are also a few weapons generously donated by other creators and some that are simply expansions on existing vanilla/CDLC weaponry. Since coding factions and custom vehicles are easily the biggest challenge as well as being the biggest time sink, these will likely come later in the mod's development.

I heavily recommended using Dust in conjunction with the Aegis set of mods as it is what I myself use when I make the content Dust was intended for, alongside having a lot of content that I would include in Dust anyway, but simply loading Aegis saves time and download space rather than having to port & configure them (5.45 AK12, F-35, BTR-100, M240, etc).

As of right now, Dust is in "Stage 2" of its completion. The following details the remaining development cycles before Dust reaches what I consider to be its completion.

@Nickis right now the factions are just there for the vehicles since I don't have the time to code the units and what have you. Feel free to make your own, of course!

@FOX It was a style choice, I don't think I'll be making an exact copy of the uniform without the flag but I MIGHT do something similar at some point.

1 Pozdornaya is a bastardised translation of Blackbird.

2 The uniform models have inconsistent thermal textures which I'll have to remedy later, but this will be to make them more consistently visible under thermals

3 They aren't Soviet Red Stars, they're the modern red star with white & blue trim

Dust is one of my fav mods. Really impressive work! Thank you! I would like to see factions in further releases.
But for now, I found some bugs and... "bugs". All are about AFRF.

1. what does "Pozdornaya" means? There's no such word in Russian. Imho, it is better to pick another name for that UAV. "Mrak" (means "gloom" or "darkness") or "Mogilshik" ("gravebird") may be?

2. some AFRF (and solid colored AFRF uniforms) are not "thermal invisible". Thus, pants are glowing bright when thermal vision, but the upper part of the uniform is completely hidden (which is good).

3. and pleeease, can you remove these Soviet red stars from vehicles? Russia (especially a future one which is in your mod) has nothing in common with USSR. You can just re-paint these stars into white-blue-red color (Russian flag colors) or paint it into solid grey for example.
