[AE] Monodagger

Description
Adds a smaller, weaker, version of the monosword for use as a secondary weapon.
That's it.

Slightly over half the stats as the full sword.
Should be vanilla friendly, but requires defs from Royalty.
Same Empire/Ultratech settings.

Can be manufactured after techprint and research.

Ideal for colonists/ideologies that don't like low-tech weapons.

  • Added Combat Extended (CE) support via patching.
  • Added build recipe and research Techprint (so you can unlock/research and manufacture).
  • Added "unfinished" version texture.

  • Added mod load-order settings.
2021-09-01:
  • Added DDS texture versions where supported, to avoid PNG compression.
2024-04-14:
  • Update for version 1.5 support.

Also says longsword and plasmasword are two-handed, but monosword is not? Huh? They also gave it 2/3 the reach.

but i imagine if both pawns have armor i guess the plasmasword wins.

ahh i see so, so the numbers it doesnt mention on there help a bit. but i do think they need to up its sharp armor penertration factor. But the monosword has less bulk, a higher dodge and parry chance and a higher counter parry bonus. So generally it does better in melee combat as it also hits faster. But yeah i do think they should increase the base RHA (sharp penetration) as it does say in the description it can cut through anything :D

@Aeidotronics oh really? i'll have the check the stats, CE weapons dont tend to have a 'best' weapon, as some weapon work better against certain opponents.

@Richard Mc NutBustery @Tec Added CE compatibility! After looking at their values table, I can't say I'm a fan. They made plasmasword better than monosword? It's a hot piece of metal, not a lightsaber.

adding CE compatibility for weapon is pretty simple, just needs to add like 3 or 4 tags to your items. I have some example if you want them. But also nice mod, a great simple addition. :)

@Richard Mc NutBustery Sorry, I'm not sure - I don't use CE. If it doesn't, and it's easy to make it work, I'll change it.
