Personal collection that attempts to incorporate The Evil Within's visual themes into L4D2, items are subject to taste.
Includes:
  • Weapons: Selected weapons are reminiscent of the ones in TEW, such as a Walther P99 (Kidman's Silver Gust) as the 9mm pistol, RE8's BFR (Sebastian's revolver) as the Magnum; a double long-barrel shotgun for the Chrome; BioShock's crossbow (Agony Crossbow) for the grenade launcher; Skyrim's torch for the molotov; a WW2 grenade for the pipe bomb; NMRIH's hatchet for the machete, and so on.
  • Infected: The Dead Space replacers really get the surreal gore-y design aesthetic of TEW going (particularly the Spitter which looks a lot like the Lament from TEW2). THE PUNTRESS' "Twisted" infected series also work well, with the Twisted Witch looking a lot like stuff you would find at Myra's domain in TEW2. I'm thinking of including the CI replacers, but that requires disabling gore since gibs aren't included yet. I tried to minimize radical changes from the the base infected models as to not ruin gameplay.
  • Survivors: Simply put Suga's replacers with TEW1 Juli as Rochelle; TEW2 Juli as Zoey; TEW1 Sebastian as Nick; TEW2 Sebastian as Bill; and Joseph as Ellis. Tactical Louis and Agent Francis as they look the most like Mobius operatives. I personally use a modified $NoDecal version of the mods to minimize crashing. However, I haven't asked the original mod author for permission to release it here.
  • Misc: 'Realistic' replacers for first-aid kits, ammo bags, and consumables are used to further desaturate L4D2's colourful appearance, courtesy of Ramm.asmiette. Pain pills are coffee since they're a healing mechanic in TEW2. I also included Ellie's wonderful Alma Wade mod to emulate Ruvik and Anima's random appearances throughout both games.
Sounds aren't included since they interfere heavily on L4D's core gameplay.
Tons of appreciation go to the mod authors whose work made it all possible, albeit not by intention, to relive the relatively underrated TEW franchise in a different way.
