Old Adventurer's Sword

Description
Starter mod: This just adds a slightly better sword to the beginning of the game. The skeleton in the caves, beneath Helgen Keep, holds the Old Adventurer's Sword, an iron sword with a realistic weight of 3 lbs. It swings faster than a sword, but still slower than a dagger, and does damage just slightly higher than a steel sword. Base damage: 9 (iron = 7, steel = 8) Speed: 1.1500 (swords = 1, daggers =1.3) It is unenchanted and requires only iron to temper.

If you've already been to Helgen, or can't find it, use the console commands to give it to yourself.

help "old adventurer" (get id #)
player.additem (id #) (qty) without the parenthesis

Update 4/27/14 ** Ok, now it can be tempered. Sorry. I made the sword originally in a big experimental mod, took it out and put it in its own mod, and forgot the temper. It's in. Good to go.

Bethus, if the mod is installed and activated, it should be right there where it is in the picture. I would double check that the mod is checked to run.

I didn't find the skeleton with the sword, although I searched the entire length of the cave. I found other skeletons but only with bone dust and some coins.:TheN::portal:

I've had this mod for YEARS now, and I still find myself going to this blade when in doubt. It's a simple retuexture, but I find it satisfying and well done. This little ol' blade has become my go-to weapon. Hell, even my late-game Gunslinger character still carrys it!

All in all, I love this blade. Thanks for the many years of enjoyment! Here's to hopin' that 2018 proves equally swell!

It is an iron sword. Its main purpose was just to give you a bit of a damage and speed edge, in early game.

no ones taken out those 2 dialoges which are funny, but annoying when your low-level and just playing the stormcloak faction carrying one with u.

make this for a standard iron sword replacer plus take out the 2 iron sword dialouges:"That iron sword looks pretty undependable, you should try steel. And: "Iron sword,hmm? What are you killing butterflies"? "Hahah"!

Gabriel, the current situation with steam and all the wonky workshop behavior makes me very hesitant to change any mods that are currently working. Entirely too easy to break everything. Sorry. I can tell you how to dial up your damage, just a bit, while smithing, though.
