WR Environmental Hazard for Urna

Description
What does this Mod:
It adds deadly acid "Rain" to Urna.

So how does it work:
Urna now has custom weather “AcidRain” and “AcidRainHeavy”. During these you and your grids will be damaged. “AcidRainHeavy” deals 10x the damage of “AcidRain” so you need to find shelter quickly. You and your grids are safe under voxels and other grids. Only the top of your grids will be damaged (this and many other things are customizable if you want to go into the mod script. And yes, it’s rather easy).

Can I protect myself?
Your character is safe if he is not outside. Your grids can be protected as well. You can put ceramic armor and armored windows on the outside of your grid. Ceramic armor will not be damaged during “AcidRain” while armored windows will take half the damage. But during a “AcidRainHeavy” your armored windows will take full damage and your ceramic armor will take half damage.

You like this mod but want to change something or add these effects to other blocks/ weather/ planets:
Basic changes to the Script are extremely easy. I created a Section inside this script that contains all the important variables. They are commentated so you will find what you can change quickly. This mod is located here:
…\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\244850\2507374909\Data\Scripts
I recommend creating your own local mod if you want to change things. For this you need to enter %appdata% inside your windows search bar. This will lead you to your Roaming File. From here go to
…. AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Mods
Create a new File and put this mod inside that file (This mod is everything that is inside
…\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\244850\2507374909
Do not put the 2507374909 file inside your new File but instead the content of this file.
Congratulations you have created “your” first mod. You will now find it under your Mods in SE. With this your mod will of course not be updated if I update this mod, but if I update this mod your settings are not deleted.

Mod Loading Order:
This Mod needs to be above Urna.

Important Notice:
For the script to work you need to reload your save after pasting in Urna.

What comes next?
This mod will most likely not get any mayor updates, but I intend to create more mods like this and combine them in a hardcore scenario/ solar system that me and my friends are working on (not to be expected anytime soon).

Credits:
It is a Script based on the "AtmosphericDamage" Script by Rexxar. He wrote it for Urna but it was broken and it missed a few Features I wanted.
Doctor Octoganapus for Urna.
Dragonqaz67 for the Imperial Star Destroyer in the Thumbnail

Can I reupload this mod?
I not only allow it I encourage you to do so as long as you:
- Credit me and Rexxar
- Put a link to this workshop page
- Change something
- (Optional but expected in some form) change anything significant, like add new Weather, add it to your planet, new “Types” of damage, …

doesnt seem to be working atm for me? have sat on urna for 15 mins no sign, and the admin menu has no option for acid rain in spawn weather?

It is theoreticly possible to add that but the script is not designed for this so you need to add some extra code. And that is not that easy(but doable if you can write code).

Heyyo. So Block resistances I get. But is there a way to list certain blocks that take damage faster? For instance if I have a corrosive atmosphere, things like Atmospheric Thrusters would take a good deal more damage than just blocks since they are "sucking" all that bad air right through them.

Gonna have go and see if I can get it to work, been watching a let's play of death stranding and fancy some rain that is a hazard. Thanks for the help.

It is possible. You just need to change the affected planet in the config. And of course, the weather. At least I think that’s all you need to change. I have not worked on this script for a while. But everything should be well documented.

I don't suppose it would be possible to use this on earth like planets with their rain weather?

I have not tested any shield mods. It probably depends on the shield mod. But I have heard that shields do work with the original script.

How do shields react to acid rain?
