[G.L.I] KM-20 Viper Assault Tank (Model B2)

Before the start of the galactic wide war, the Renation Army doctorine heavily depended on expensive all rounder vehicles and had many impressive designs in its arsenal. However when the galactic wide war begun things quickly started to change. The expensive vehicles of the Renation Army no longer were as viable as they were on previous wars since the new conflict was way larger than any before and reached hundreds of worlds. Expensive vehicles such as all the old Renation tanks and walkers were now becoming extremely hard to deploy onto the very large battlefield that is the galactic wide war. The Renation Army quickly came to realise that the army doctorine needed to change, and it needed to change fast. They gathered a few known producers and tasked them with developing a tank for their needs. In the end the Golden Legion Industries won and started producing multiple series of tanks and ground vehicles for the renation army, including the KD and KM series of tanks. KM-20 was one of the tanks that were designed by the Golden Legion Industries.

The KM-20 series of tanks were heavily modifiable which made them a versatile tank for many mission profiles. The KM-20 was designed as a main assault tank to be used by the Renation Army and was considered to be a viable replacement for the older models. The tank featured excellent angled frontal armor and was equipped with a 120mm Autocannon. Armor skirts could also be added onto the tank and anti HEAT armor mesh was also available. KM-20 Viper was around 70 tons and could be paradropped using special equipment. The Viper was crewed by 3 people: A driver, a gunner and a commander. No loaders were present due to the autoloader system on the tanks weapon. The tank was easy and fast to produce making it viable for the galaxy wide war and was used on almost every battle. The KM series quickly became famous both among citisens and soldiers for their effectiveness. They were also used on many propaganda posters and videos.

There were 2 major drawbacks of the design including the high recoil of the 120mm Auto cannon and the limited turret rotation angle due to the lack of space inside the tank. The high recoil of the 120mm Autocannon would often lead to horizontal drive damage and would slightly lift the 70 ton beast. In order to fix theese problems later variants had a 120mm rifled cannon that had less recoil and the tank was lenghtened to fit the equipment that was present on the top of the tank. Later variants also included a 20mm autocannon on the commanders scope. After combat testing the vehicle was also equipped with a survival kit to keep the crew from death in case of an emergency. The survival kit consisted of a rifle rack that was added on top of the vehicle, med kits inside the vehicle and rations that were stored on the back of the vehicle to improve crew survivability after the immobilisation of the tank. Combat reports also noted a problem with the electrical transmission system but no improvements were made to it.

I managed to build this in a week, usually i keep my builds for a month and add stuff onto them as i came up with new ideas but this one i simply couldnt find anything else to add so i just released it. Dont forget to unlock the rotors before trying to use any of the turrets cus they wont turn otherwise.
