Description




This mod is an full commissioned extension mod of the wonderful Roolo creation, What the hack?!, which enables hacking and upgrading mechanoids.



Among other features, this mod introduces new modules to upgrade your mechanoids even further, as well as portable hacking facility, to hijack and repair them outside the colony.(however disabled for now). This is the core of larger mod series. Stay tuned for new contents such as [Rogue AI : the Story of two Siblings Expansion which will be released in Early October!



































6.1.2021 - initial release
6.3 - gizmo image update for consuming mecahnoid fuel reserve, burst EMP module.
6.4 - Temporary CE compat patch for shieldbelt (disabled it from spawning)
6.5 - several patches. check the update log.
6.6 - several patches. Added portable hacking facility. check the update log.
6.11 - Cooking Module, "waiter/butler" module for when Gastronomy is active,Rescue module,Animal Arm


Implemented:
- More types of minified turrets can be mounted on mechanoids, even those from VFE Security and Rimeffect Core, if you have them installed.
  • Autocannon turret
  • Uranium slug turret
  • Charge railgun (VFE-S)
  • EMP cannon (VFE-S)
  • Rocket turret (VFE-S)
  • Double autocannon (VFE-S)
  • Mass Accelerator Turret (Rimeffect)
- You can now make Vanometric module with small/large Vanometric cells from VFE-power.

- when you use Gastronomy is active you can use butler module and use mechanoid as a waiter!

- More you can found in-game!



Work in progress:
  • 2 new rogue AI types with each 5 more AI levels. Aka the Siblings story mod.
  • New type of Mechanoid salvaging system which allows you to assemble your own mechanoid! the Project X
  • Experimental Electron Lab(building which will be included in core mod)
  • Various smaller projects

Q: Is this compatible with other WTH expansions?
A: Yes. We cooperate with other WTH modders to make sure everything can work together. Please report any incompatibilities and we will investigate immediately.

Q: Where should I put it in load order?
A: Below What the hack?!, is fine enough.

Q: When will you add X feature?
A: WTH Expanded is a big project, many features are worked upon simultaneously. Smaller batches of simple content are added via patches to the Core. More complex endeavours need much more testing. Content with large gameplay impact will be released as separate mods.

Q: I have an idea for your mod, are you interested?
A: You bet we are! Post all ideas in the comments.

Q:Can I make a mod like you? ?
A: Yeah, if you can manage to make an out line of a project you want to make, you can find people who can work for you in RImworld mod market. You don't need learn coding, arts, even English writing skills. All you need is passion and a little bit of money.. just like me! You can do it too!

Q:Does it harm performances? is it CE Compatible?
A: Nah,just same as WTH does. CE? yeah it is, but some of things are disabled when CE is active. We are working on
it to make sure two mods work fine with each other.

Q:How does this item work?
A: well you can have joy finding the use of the cool items we made. However for Plasmoid fuel reserve, if you bring it when you have mecahnoids in your caravan, they will automatically consume it when there electricity is below 20%. Just like packaged meal for colonists. Not in caravan mod, when you have mechanoid platform and also fuel reserve, mechanoids pretend to use the nearest item.

Q:Hey that arts are a Shway! But I don't play What the Hack? what should I do?
A: WTH is truly a wonderful mod which I have played for 1500 hours at least(2500h total). So count on me and give it a try.. and my mod on top of it! My mod is but the expansion of original WTH.. for now

@BtR sounds great. Feel the same. I think Tynan is doing too much work. Back in 1.3 I dreamt of New DLCs but I never thought this, 3 year rapid new Freaking awesome DLC would happen and it just overwhelming af lol. But the misunderstanding here is, I can't C# and draw art so I basiclaly just poured all money making mods by commissions. Which sucks, because every single time updating mod to newsest game vesion always costs fortune... luckly some QoL mods worked just fine without updates but somehow, yet this Mechanoid mod would definately not due to.. Biotech, I thought of learning either Art, or C#, but it was a shallow dream since, those are kinda not a joke, hiring in mod workshop comes very handy, but money, is always a pain in the ass. Whatsoever, this time I couldn't really ignore these my mod lovers and will do some updates due to dutiness urge.. but high possibility that this mod will need many tweaks so excluded. Ok thats all

Roger that. I don't have the time I used to have back in the day. I run some of the community events in my town and we have monthly stuff going on. It seems like there's always something to do that's not gaming these days. When I get a chance to run the game some more, I'll definitely let you know.

I wish it was easier to swap back and forth with older versions of the game without breaking everything. I want to try out the new content, but I sort of feel like the 1.3 era was the best for mods. There were a lot of people who are gone now who were very active back then. It's too bad some of the modders removed their older content from the internet.

or if you can some share some opinions of improvement or that is no longer needed in the mod (because of DLC, biotech ... etc) please dont hestitate to informe me. My personal discord is #ggfirst . The server is dead and I have problems maintaining it so..

@Benjamin the Rogue I can't gurantee anything but if there is any progress i will let you know or re release the mod. I know I could have done better but RW is not my jam any longer. But I promised some people that I would update some of my mods to new version (no upgrade) and when that happens I will try to do something about this very first mod as well. Thanks for loving it more than I could ever did.
