Title Manager

Description
Inspired by magnvs1101's CK2 mod of the same name.

Updated for 1.17, the "Ascendant" update

Features:
  • Lets you transfer the de jure liege of counties, duchies, and kingdoms. This works for any title that can be found in title searcher, whether that title is held by you or not, or whether it has even been created yet.

  • Lets you mass transfer all de jure titles under a given title (duchy or above) to another title of equal size (i.e. consolidating Brittania and France into a single empire de jure). Note that the target title is not destroyed, it simply becomes titular (i.e. having no de jure land under it).

  • Lets you set the de jure capital county of a duchy, kingdom, or empire, so long as the county is already de jure part of that duchy/kingdom/empire. (If it isn't already de jure, the first feature will let you make it so)

(Note: all single-title transfers must be between titles with one step between them, with the target smaller than the receiver, e.g. a county being transferred to a duchy, a duchy to a kingdom, and a kingdom to an empire. Transferring titles with more than one step between them has no effect, and titles of equal size will be consolidated all at once.)

To transfer titles:
  1. Navigate to the de jure title screen for the title you wish to transfer; this can be done by clicking on a shield in de jure counties / duchies / kingdoms / empires mode, or if you want to transfer your primary title, by clicking the shield in the bottom left.
  2. Click the "Target Title" button in the top-right of the window to assign this title as the target.
  3. Navigate to the de jure title screen for the title you wish to have the target transferred to, by the same process as described in step 1.
  4. Click the "Receiver Title" button in the top-right of the window to assign this title as the receiver.
  5. Click the decision "Transfer Titles" to make the receiver title the new de jure liege of the target title.
  6. Done.

To consolidate titles:
  1. Follow steps 1-3 as outlined above, ensuring that the target and receiver title are the same tier (both duchies, or kingdoms, or empires)
  2. Click the decision "Consolidate Equal-Size Titles" to mass transfer all de jure titles under the target title to the receiver title.
  3. Done.

To set a county as de jure capital of a duchy / kingdom / empire:
  1. Ensure your county is de jure part of that duchy / kingdom / empire already. (If it is not, refer to the instructions above)
  2. Set the county as the target title, by the same method as above.
  3. Set the duchy / kingdom / empire as the receiver title, also as above.
  4. Click the major decision "Change De Jure Capital." The decision may have empty results, but if the decision shows up at all, everything has been done correctly and is working as intended.
  5. Done.

If you would like to make the "transfer titles" decision disappear after setting a target and receiver title, then use the "Clear Target and Designee Titles" decision. If you'd like to transfer titles again, just select another two titles to be managed by the same process above.

Modifies the window_title.gui file, so incompatible with any mod changing that file.

However, if you want to make this mod compatible with other mods changing the GUI, load this mod before the other one, and edit the window_title.gui file of the second mod so that the block of code (lines 158-164 in 1.16 update) in this mod's window_title.gui are copied into the correct location.

Savegame compatible

Not achievement compatible, on any version

Much thanks to:
  • magnvs1101 for the original CK2 mod.
  • The CK3 modding co-op for helping me turn my ideas into actual code.
  • 티에 for providing me with a Korean localization.
  • error 4-0-4 for providing me with a Spanish localization.
  • Viridianus for providing me with a Russian localization.
  • kennyS for providing me with a Simplified Chinese localization.
  • michaeljcompton97 for giving me the idea to consolidate titles, instead of forcing people to transfer one-by-one.
  • Nirasti for providing a hotfix for my mod after the 1.13 update.

-- If you would like to provide localization for your language, feel free to follow the template laid out in the English localization file in my mod, add me as a friend on Steam, and send a link to your file on some file-sharing site. --

Hey guys, unfortunately the way that Paradox has coded this means that (as far as I am aware) the baronies are hardcoded to their respective counties, so you can't change their de jure ruler in the same way you can for counties and up.

hi there, is it possible to "move" a barony from one county to another with this? cheers

Hey everyone,

Ran my usual testing setup (current game version + Title Manager) and all three commands & the UI elements worked as normal. I did not have the issue with my transferred title still showing the previous liege---if you still are after I update the mod, post again with details (screenshots may help) and I'll see what I can do.

I'll update the mod to say it's compatible with the new update, but, as usual, nothing will be changing under the hood. Since this mod is essentially just adding a few small decisions and adding them to a single UI screen, the only thing that will really break this mod is a UI update to the window which I put the TM buttons in (which didn't happen with 1.17).

Therefore its broken.

The mod still works. It can be deceptive because when you go through the process it doesn't list the transferred title under its new de jure liege but selecting the lord with the transferred title no longer has the penalty. In other words mechanically it works, it just doesn't update the text. Also thank you for making this mod, it has really helped me out!

Please update!

Finally, I can merge the northern isles into Brittania. I started as Scotland and couldn't merge so thought I had to be Emperor or Britannia.... nope. Weird. Thanks for making a mod that fixes this :)

@MrFernoGames I just tried it and it works, it only does it one at a time though
