A Song of Ice and Fire - All MA Nations

Description
provinces: 1132 land and 144 sea
wraparound: horizontal

A map based on the world of A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin.

Intended for all 35 MA nations. Has 12 good throne locations but you can choose more/fewer.

Important: Please use in conjunction with the ASOIAF mod: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P9gZeKBTSXpYCJ197DBaa6FT7CGCvQWN/view?usp=sharing

Place the files in your Dominions 5 mod folder and remember to enable it. Currently it only reduces the Ship Provinces' income and production to 0, effectively making them only useful for transporting troops.

With a map this large, it's very likely I missed some things here and there that will be ironed out in a future update. If you notice any mistakes or have some ideas for improvement please let me know.

Hey Emerald_Weapon, I haven't kept up with Dominions. Maybe the bug got introduced in some update, I'll see what I can do to fix it.

Hello.
I'd like to play the map, but is there still this bug with "20K Gold income and resources on naval travel nodes"?
It's sad if such bug prefents to play this fantastic map.

Hello, glad you're still enjoying it despite the bug. I noticed it as well and don't have time at the moment to figure out what's causing it :ScoutSheep:

Great map! Unfortunately there is a strange bug now middle of the game, all the naval travel gives 20K+ Gold income and resources suddenly, so it's not playable from now :( Mod is still enabled when looking active mods, so don't know what has happend.

@The Murderous Titanium Puffin Thanks a lot, I just got the notification! It is indeed time consuming. I have some new ideas myself but it's harder and harder to find time these days. Hopefully I'll produce something next month. I'd be thrilled to see what you come up with!

I Donated a bit more loose change. I'm working on something myself, and I better appreciate the amount of time it takes to make something work. Plus this is A Song of Ice and Fire, which I appreciate too.

@The Murderous Titanium Puffin Thank you. I don't have a lot of time to respond or update the map nowadays but I appreciate the feedback and will implement some balance changes the next chance I get. If you have any more ideas for other nations or the map as a whole please let me know.

A less radical - but still welcome - change could be varying the wasteland provinces to the south-west to lessen the 'winners lose' dynamic a bit. A few more 'oasis' provinces with population, and even a forest/mountain province would be helpful.

More broadly, I suspect this whole 'eastern' region is a less developed part of the world in A Song of Ice and Fire; hence the macro-climates with blocks of similar land types. Macro-climates aren't always bad, but they make variety all the more valuable. This may be a concern for Xibalba and Uruk for instance.

Lastly, and least importantly, there are a few benefits a land nation can get from actually being on the coast; the 'trade winds' spell is the closest you can get to being an actual trade nation. This great if your capital actually borders the sea and you have air magic, so giving 'A Song of Ice' sea access would be mid/late game buff.

Anyway, I hope some of those ideas are interesting.

Offering advice is tricky without altering the flavour of the map, which I want to respect.
Also you may have other things to do with your time - so ignore what I say if it's inconvenient.

Firstly, I think Dom 5 land powers starting on a peninsula are troubled if there aren't options - e.g. Island hoping or cave networks. If I was playing EU4, I would be overjoyed by the potential for maritime trade - but this is Dominions 5. So this much exposure to the sea (i.e. danger) causes issues esp. combined with being in an early game cul-de-sac. Non-wasteland Islands or caves would be very welcome here.
