Knight Titles

Description
Newly updated to work with the latest version, 1.8.2!

NOTE: Due to limitations in how Paradox allows titles to be implemented, you will have to wait up to 3 months after a knight is hired for the title to be applied to them.

A mod to give the title of "Sir" to Anglo-Saxon Knights, as they would have been historically given.
English & Scottish Knights also now take the title of "Sir"
Knights of an Italian & Iberian culture now take the title of "Don"
Knights of a German or Norse culture now take the title of "Herr"
Knights of a Frankish culture now take the title of "Sire"
Knights of a West Slavic culture now take the title of "Pan"

A big thanks to the CK3 Mod Coop Discord for help in putting together and debugging the original version of the mod.

A huge thanks to Leprzilla in bringing the mod up to date with the latest game version and the new culture system.

@Kwiat'u I've tried events and scripts that are supposed to remove nicknames after getting titles, but they didn't work, even after waiting a long time. But I did not try to write blank nicknames, maybe it would work out

wouldnt it work if you made it so that when character gets tittles it also fires an hidden event that removes nickname, or gives him new blank nickname?

Sorry folks, I tried to make landed characters lose their "sir" titles and rework the mechanics in general, but it didn't work. Now I see that the mod should be redesigned so that knight titles are not seen as nicknames, but as addresses to landless characters, like the titles of heirs (princes and so on). But unfortunately I lack the experience and time to figure this out. I tried to do something with Chat GPT, but its base is quite old in terms of modding CK3. So, at the moment I don't have any ideas how to solve this, but if you have any thoughts, I and I'm sure the original creator of the mod, Phoenix, will be happy to listen to them and implement them

But I really like this mod, thanks for making it.

Yeah, that would be a feature to implement, as 'Sir King" looks very strange imo.

@Altatension18 yeah I want to fix it, but currently I'm not up to it right now. And yeah, I'm not good at coding, so it would take for me some time to figure out :UnamusedOwlcat:

Would It be posible to hide the sir, don, sire, etc. if you are alredy a landed character? I mean if you are a count, duke, etc. It is note necessary to have the Knight title with your landed title

Would you be able to add one for Roman culture? Either "Praefect" or "Eques"?
