Kinda, is required a few steps before add to the model, such do a Bake [cdn.discordapp.com] from one UVMap to another UVMap. Like I did for Megaman's Smash Bros texture. This process result in a image like this one [cdn.discordapp.com].
Another Option: is yourself paint the texture and write the materials setup, then override the materials with this tool, called Sub Material Tool .
