The Great Plan - Fixed Railroad Connections

Description
OPTIONS:
• New version: The Great Plan Infrastructure+. This version overhauls the starting area highway-railway interchange setup.
• ((This version)) - this version just fixes the issue, leaving everything else the same.

QUICK DESCRIPTION:
A modified version of The Great Plan by the generous @Mulleboy (with permission) that aims to fix an issue with the railroad connections and terrain true to the original. Modified and uploaded with permission from the original author; if you like this, please also give a like to the original.

Changes
• Railway: Rail connections are now separated from the highway network by going over an elevated portion then spacing out from the highway. It is believed the issue stems from how the game internally handles railway connections with passengers and issues that can happen if road connections, including highways, are to close. The rail connections have a small part of the curve that requires Fine Road Anarchy! 2 if you aim to edit it using 81 tiles or cross the line. I chose not to use tunnels out of simplicity, but you could probably avoid an anarchy-created rail segment that way.

@Billy Beane -- This was a problem with the original map this *attempts* to solve due to "Technical problems with the map editor". Please provide additional context, and, check your version.
@jams_obseoyo - not from the start. No. You can fix it with mods "At Save Time" or "At Map Editor Time".

Some Intersections are available!
It is :). I've provided the information enough. I believe either you are referring to "Smooth Interchange" by Impact! or others; but you did not describe them enough sorry.

Hey there! I'm wondering if this map is suitable for left-hand drive? I have heard that there can be some issues with highway junctions on custom maps if they are designed for right-hand drive :)

Tourists will always generally the best route, however - if you have, say, a space elevator, you may see the tourist traffic of trains or highways (intercity buses and private cars) drop to zero. They do not necessarily mean tourists will come. If you use, say, unlock all and put a station down, no one might be interested in visiting.

The workshop station might not be correctly using a "station track". You can only create station stops (and thus the automatic ones used by intercity trains) on station tracks. You may be able to replace the segments with station segments using Network Multitool (NMT)'s "Unlock Segment" mode. Be sure to re-lock the segments & only use station tracks (generally can be found using Find It! 2, be sure you have them for any custom tracks) for stations - not railway/other rail elsewhere.

Yes, you are actually right, glad you answered me. I was getting cargo trains but no passengers. The issue was not the fixed connections (which are actually fixed) it was the workshop station I was using. I changed to generic and others and trains started bringing cims. I also have the allow intercity trains MOD.

My understanding is that trains do bring tourists to visit your parks and attractions. They bring them to your commercial areas as well.

BTW, it is a beautifully designed map. Thank you.

@Wertherland What does "bring tourism" mean? That wasn't the issue with the map - they would jam because of the highway entrance outside connections had nodes too close to the rails, causing traffic. Rails don't "bring tourism" - they bring passengers and cargo. Place a freight station. If freight comes, you have another problem - city attractiveness, or just too many better options for CIMs to visit (roads, planes, ships, space elevator). Also check "allow intercity trains" if you have the unofficial patcher mod

This is still NOT working. Wonderful map, but not useful if rail network won't bring tourism
