Description

This is a mod for various strategy games, that makes province names change their name dynamically, to one that fits the culture of the faction that controls them.

In the common database (for all the supported games), there are currently over 180.000 names for various languages, themes and time periods.

The names are meant to provide an immersive and authentic experience for the game's setting and time period.
However, if there are no names for a specific language for this context, names from other time periods, or even from very closely related languages, will be used instead, as long as they make sense and are a good fit.

@Archivist77 Yes, permission granted. Just make sure to credit the GitHub Repository of this mod: https://github.com/hmlendea/more-cultural-names

I'll most likely create an MCN version for EU5 but probably just for vanilla, at least initially, and only if possible without too many changes in MCN's infrastructure.

@ others : I hope to release an update this week, which should fix the problems

@Lilandru

Hi, can the EU5: Extended Timeline team implement content from this mod accredited, thank you for any answer!

Also if not would you be open to making a compatch, but likely the scope of ET EU5 will be very big so a lot would be implemented in terms of cultural provincial/location names.

none of the nomadic realms work with this mod. The dlc makes some nations appear only in english after creating a character, Pechenegs, Cumans, Karluks etc... it works fine in the selector map though

@AngelBudgie The reason it's Arymor is because like the culture hybrid of Breton and French it refers to Armorica which is the historica name for the region.

out of curiosity; why is the breton-language word for brittany "arymôr"? i havent come across it before, and what little information i did find, pointed towards it being welsh, as opposed to the breton "breizh".

Hello! This is one of my favorite mods since ck2. I want to ask if there is a Chinese version of this mod? If not, is it allowed for me to create a Chinese translation submod?

Could you make an offshoot mod where the name is based on the local culture (majority culture for lands of a higher rank than counties)?
