CH-47 - Slingload Harpoon

Description
Slingload Harpoon for my CH-47 helicopters.

Pretty easy to build in creative mode, but if you want a ready-made version, here ya go.

As with most subgrids that get attached-detatched, you may have to regroup the hinges and will definitely have to reapply the controls to the cockpit.

Be forewarned that the pendulum physics can get out of control pretty fast, so use "landing" control mode, and gentle movements. The lighter the object that you are lifting, the more it's going to swing.

My CH-47 Chinook Mk III can be found here.

still looks awesome though

ah fair enough. I'm going to take a wild guess and say, perhaps adding more down/back thrust wouldn't help any?

It uses Heli Assist, actually, which is definitely required when trying to slingload, otherwise whatever you're carrying will just drag you straight to the ground, Lol. Even with Heli Assist on, the load causes you to gradually sink about a meter per second or so, but it's better than constantly fighting for altitude like your inertial dampners are turned off.
I've found that feathering the up + forward keys is a good way to accelerate gradually. Slowing down on the other hand... Definitely not graceful, Lol

hmmm too fast and you go into a spin cycle, too slow and you get nowhere lol. have you tried any of the flight assist scripts like Heli assist? (if you figure that script out let me know lol) though i think i remeber from the video you use that on the old model Ch-47

@Irumasa, Thanks! You definitely have to get used to the fact that the ropes can go slack and let your cargo fly upwards into you when you stop after moving straight up, Lol! Also there's a good bit more swing to the ropes than the old sling, since you could adjust the torque of the hinges to cheat compensate for the pendulum motion. If there was some way to get a gradual acceleration & deceleration it would be a lot easier to control for sure.

@T-Roox, it's Keen's vanilla 'Brawler' rover from the last chapter of 'The First Jump' scenario.
