Just like any vehicle MAX power is available but you typically don't ever use it... it's like redlining a car... it's very difficult to control and destructive... but it's an option. When the MAKO starts planing to get max speed you need to pay attention more to where and how you are driving. The controls/features/power on the MAKO are entirely up to the choices of the driver... use them if you want but you don't have to and if you are going for speed you need to be careful.
...and what bug are you noticing?
THROTTLE DAMPENER for RUDDER VALUE.
Once the ACTIVE THROTTLE goes over 65 the system will turn on which will automatically dampen the throttle value sent to the engines if the rudder goes over a certain value. This will reduce the slides and bumps in the turns by automatically reducing the power request to the engines while the rudder is equal to or greater than the check value. The reduction is proportional to the starting throttle value but can't go below 65%. After the rudder returns to below its check value the system will automatically put the ACTIVE THROTTLE back to its full setting. NOTE: the dampening option can be disabled by using a button to the left of the DRIVER's seat.
When the throttle gets to around 65 percent that's when the boat starts planing and gathering speed. It's very unstable at 100% and the best throttle profile for active turning is <75%.
For straight runs at high speed go with 85% and it should be stable for 85 to 90 knots even in winds up to 50%. In order to get that speed the boat starts planing. That's where you see the RPS spike: the boat stops fighting water resistance and its all to speed. It is essentially skipping across the water with the engines just submerged. There are leveling fins for both Pitch and Roll which are more effective when in the water but will work against the air.
NOTE: MAX setting is for if you are pulling something or if you have a death wish. Think about driving the MAKO like driving a sports car... you can put your foot to the floor but try to turn at high speed and you're rolling. The additional danger on running on water is that the road is undulating. Every wave throws it around. MAX is there as an option but you'll probably won't want to use it. :)
