EpsTweak for Government Management

Description
EpsTweak is a series of small mods that tweak the balance of Civ 6. Rather than put all of them into one hefty package, I've split them into small fragments to allow you to make your own custom rulesets.

By far one of the biggest pains for multiplayer sessions is the "Change your policies for free on the turn you unlock a Civic" mechanic. Multiplayer is usually played using simultaenous turns, with a very short turn timer and auto-end-turn enabled, which ends up demanding the player's full attention non-stop. Asking players to keep track of when they unlock a Civic is simply asking too much.

So this mod removes that requirement, and makes it so that you can change your government policies for free at any time after unlocking a Civic. To keep things from getting too exploit-heavy, when you change your policies (by pressing the "Confirm" button) your government goes into "cooldown". During cooldown, you have to pay gold to change your policies. When you unlock your next Civic, the cooldown ends, and you again can change your policies for free during any turn.

Note: This mod only affects human players. Enabling it for AI's would probably cause a lot of problems due to them re-evaluating policies on every single turn.

I use unique names for all ID's, by adding "EPSMOD_" to them. I also avoid using existing requirement sets whenever possible, since you don't know when a modder is going to delete those. Finally, I strive to keep each module focused on only doing the one thing it needs. Unnecessary additional changes are prone to trip another mod.

Brilliant. SImply brilliant. I feel better already, like I'm wrapped in a warm blanket.

What is about the way you mod that so rarely produces mod conflicts and crashes? Like, are there certain aspects of modding that you avoid or stick to that are kind of fail safe? For example, to an idiot like me I would think, "Oh no, this is definitely one of those mods that will run into problems and crash things." But here we are, 2 years after publishing this, and not one complaint. Most of your mods are complaint free. What is the secret to your delicious pies, Master Chef?

Incredibly useful tweak, thanks!

I usually do take advantage of that anyway, but sometimes I don't want to do it right at that moment but then the opportunity is gone, so I guess this would be quite useful to take the pressure off.
