Vampires

Description
This mod allows you to play as a vampire.

- Be immortal
- Turn others to become your vampire progeny (also affects dynasty and parents)
- Drink blood to sustain yourself or lose control
- Grow more powerful with age
- Consume imprisoned vampires to grow stronger quicker
- Heal wounds and regenerate lost limbs

- Careless feeding habits will lead to suspicion rising and being put down

How to play as a vampire:
- An event on new game start will offer to become a vampire.
- For games already in progress similar event will be repeated on an adult character inheriting your titles or child ruler coming of age.
- Alternatively you can either use character editor to grant yourself Vampire trait or use an in-game console command `add_trait vampire`.

AI vampires:
- An event on the beginning of the new game will offer to turn random AI characters into vampires. You can choose to be the only vampire at the beginning of the game or start with a some random AI vampire characters.

I've actually been trying, but I'm big struggling, lol. I've been facinated with like AGOT combat style and even the POD mod combat styles. But I for the life of me can't replicate it.

@A homeless orphan, You could reuse the logic from "diablerie" decision "decisions/vampire.decisions.txt" and call the same effect from some event options you think it would make sense.

Adding new options with such effect to existing combat events is in theory trivial, However, I believe it would require to override the whole event (copy the whole event to a file within the mod folder and modify it by adding new options). I am hesitant to do that within the scope of this mod as it would lead to incompatibilities with other mods that might be overriding same events. However feel free to go crazy and create an extension mod that is based on this.

This mod is great. I've got a lot of playtime out of it. Any way to make it so that you can dioblerize people you defeat in duels? I like the idea of vamp vs vamp combat having extra quirks to it.

@Deaka Thank you! It is really nice to hear that you have been enjoying this!

@Juggernaut all three suspicion levels have a 5 year Mean Time to Happen setting before it drops a level. However if you are already exposed it is more likely that the other event that kills you during the day happens.

To avoid this it is a good idea to maintain good behavior that would not draw unnecessary attention... or to have other vampires in your court that could be used as scapegoats.

Love the mod, quick question though, does the -50 modifier for being discovered as a monster ever go away? I know the other ones take a bit of time a subtly but does the "final" one go away or is it a no step back sort of thing and lasts until the mob eventually gets you?

One of the best mods for CK2. Love this mod and always come back 2 it

@Haralddeking thank you the feedback and glad you enjoyed it!

Leveling up events are triggered by random "mean_time_to_happen". You get from Fleddgeling to Regular Vampire in ~5 years. It takes another ~25 to reach Ancilla, and extra ~70 years to get to Elder. After ~100 more years you get to the Ancient level. I think the number of years are reasonable, but since it is random, you might get lucky and promoted much earlier.

Also diablerizing some other more powerful vampire might have sped it up?

I think the Vampire mod is really good and adds a lot of fun to the game. It’s cool to play as a vampire and have special powers that change how you play. The mod feels well-made and fits nicely into the game.

But in my opinion, you become an elder vampire a little too fast. It would be more fun if it took longer and felt like more of a journey.

Still, it’s a great mod and I really enjoy using it!

@Conquistador I am glad to hear you are enjoying this and thank you for the kind words!

I really really wanted to avoid having to constantly support this in case something changes in the vanilla game - cross mod compatibility was a nice side effect :D
