Description
-WHAT IS X.C.O.M-

Xtra Class Outside Mods is a series of mods I plan to release for both vanilla and WOTC XCOM2 and consist of soldier classes for the player to use. They will use no external assets apart from a simple class logo to ensure maximum compatibility with the base game files and those of other mods as well. The aim of the series is to add classes within XCOM 2 to give players variety within a very confined system, the soldiers will feel the same and use the same weapons and abilities however there will be more variation to said soldiers. Melee Snipers, Assault Medics, Grenadiers with Gremlins and more to give the game more vanilla flavouring. Each new class will have their own name, nicknames, progression speed, fluffy lore, short comings which need to be compensated and many roles to play on the field of battle. No 'One man/woman/alien' army soldiers. That wouldn't be XCOM now would it?

-THE TROOPER-

"Use a sword? And get near one of those things? Hell no"
"Do I look like a nerd, I don't need no damn egghead robot to patch a wound"
"Blowin' stuff up is fun but that launcher is heavy "
"Using your mind as a weapon is cool but I'd rather shoot the damn things rather than make them float"
"Sniping is for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ma guy, pistol or not"
-Quotes from XCOMs 'finest'

Troopers! By the book soldiers who can specialise in almost anything you need them to do. Whether its a medic, distraction unit, flanking lead, demolition foreman, firing line or even a wingman to support another agent. These soldiers can fit almost role you give them. This class gives XCOM 2 a standard soldier unit that it lacked upon release, specialists are awesome but what happened to your standard marine? Well this mod fixes said issue with crude nicknames and even cruder backstories behind each one to give you that true comradery feeling, they all talk crap about one another but would easily put their life on the line for their fellow soldier in an instant. Making jokes and light banter in a time of devastation, whether seeing tomorrow isn't guaranteed anymore.

Fielding a full 6 Trooper squad turns a group of speciality agents into a deadly firing line and a contingent of soldiers with a near impenetrable defensive form. Using just a rifle and pistol is quite effective, especially when there is six of them, all pointing at one target...

-QUICK NOTE-

Given the time and hassle it took to set up the damn modding software, I have decided to use WOTC as my default output format and ONLY IF IN DEMAND, will I port a mod backwards to use in vanilla XCOM 2

-BUGS AND SUGGESTIONS-

If you manage to find any bugs or have a suggestion to improve my stuff, please do not hesitate to leave a comment, I enjoy reading through them :)

@Stauff no I am a novice at modding so I used that term against myself, you were kind and respectful. Enjoy yourself and I admire your dedication to the community :)

@Stauff Thx for leaving the two comments but I think I addressed these issues in the 5 in 1 pack for all classes. It has also been a while since I bothered to open XCOM 2 back up, I hope you have fun despite my novice mistakes

I noticed your trooper can't use PCS. In the "XComClassData.ini" , at squaddie rank, after the "ApplyToWeaponSlot=eInvSlot_unknown)))" you missed a "," and two "\\". Check it out please. After these changes, and after creating a new trooper, it works fine for me.

Yeah, fair enough. I already got my next camping set up so not like I'll be using it right away.

@Jet Sunstrider Well you did ask for a way to do it, however if anything goes wrong or you feel uncomfortable at ANY point then I suggest copying the file and placing it somewhere on your computer and if anything bad happens, you still have the original file with no changes, to which you simply put it back in where you found it

Again, more than happy to help

Worst comes to worse I can just use something like Commander's choice... I don't feel comfortable editing the game files like that.

Ok so I don't think you can completely disable the class, again I would highly advise against this but what I am about to suggest will make it so that these classes won't appear. It wont get ridof the classes but you ever get them within the game, the only way to get them again would be to train a rookie as said class

1.Go to your steam folder then - steamapps - common - XCOM 2 - XCOM 2 war of the chosen -
XCom game - config - DefaultClassData

2. In that file, open it up and you will find each class as you scroll down

3.Each class will have two lines of code
'NumInForcedDeck=1'
'NumInDeck=4'

4. Set both of those end numbers to 0

5. Do this for whatever class you want to disable but again it DOES NOT remove them fromthe game, it just makes it so that the only way to get them would be to train them in the guerrilla tactics school

Hope that helps, If still confused then lemme know :)

Modded gimmick campaigns is what I live for in Xcom 2. There are other mods that can disable classes, but if you know a way I'd love to know.
