Scenario Helper WinPack

Ever want to have an infantry only battle with the AI ???
Ever think a tank battle on your favorite map would be cool ???
Mad cause the AI will not spawn a unit type you need for an achievement ???

By using the Scenario Helper Winpack, one can limit what units the AI is allowed to deploy. It does not presently limit human players. The pack also will pre-build buildings, and in some cases add abilities, resources or spawn units so there is less wait-time for some scenarios. Because this is a WinPack, it may work with custom maps and some mods. The Win Conditions setup is an Annihilation game.

Check out the Scenario Helper WinPack (VP) for the same Scenarios with a 500 Victory Points Win Conditions game.

Basic Scenarios include:
  • Only-Infantry
  • Only-Vehicles
    (basically any vehicle that is not a tank, but including artillery and AT guns)
  • Only-Tanks
  • Blitzkrieg
    (both the Only-Vehicles and Only-Tanks sets, no Infantry)

Note: Best support for the Soviet and German Wehrmacht Ostheer, but also supports German Oberkommando West, US, and British Forces.

  • Conscripts/Grenadiers
    (and Volksgrenadiers/Riflemen/Tommies)
  • Light Vehicles (No AT Guns)
  • Only Machine Gunners
  • Only Mortars
  • Mortars and Machine Guns
  • Only Snipers
  • Scout Cars
  • Only AA
  • Heavy Tanks
  • T-70 vs Sdkfz 234 Puma
    (vs Panzer II, M5A1 Stuart)
  • Only Rockets
  • T-34/76 vs Panzer IV Tanks
    (vs M4A3 Sherman, Cromwell MK. IV)
  • T-34/85 vs Panther PzKfw V Tanks
    (vs M4A3E8 Easy8 Sherman, Comet)
  • IS-2 vs Tiger PzKpfw VI Tanks
    (vs King Tiger, M26 Pershing, Churchill Mk VII)
  • KV-2 vs Elefant
    (vs Jag-D Tiger, US Tank Destroyers (M10/M36), Churchill AVRE)

Note: The AI was not modified, so what the AI decides to spawn is sometimes... unique.

Note: You may see some infantry running around in a vehicle scenario. Mechanized infantry units are being spawned, and then the AI will unload the infantry.

Note: Some additional units will spawn (or not spawn) depending on the commanders the AI picks. Units for the scenario should spawn independent of the AI selected commander.

Note: For many of the Achievement Scenarios, enough resources are given to immediately build or call-in a single unit of that type.

Note: There seemed to be a problem with the AI spawning Soviet snipers, so two units are forced-spawned and will respawn if killed.

To Use:
  1. Start the Game.
  2. Play a Skirmish Game.
  3. Create a Custom Game.
  4. Select Player(s) and AI.
    (Other than buildings being pre-built, and possibly some resources, this only limits what the AI can build.)
  5. Select the Map.
    (Should work with most custom maps.)
  6. Under Options, Win Condition, Select "Scenario Helper WinPack" or "Scenario Helper WinPack (VP)" and the Scenario you wish to run.
  7. Start the actual battle with the "Start Game" button.
    (The AI should only build things available for the selected scenario.)

some map did show me the critical error notification and some map did not but at least the conscript/grenadier gamemode is not unhindered with the map i played so its all good for me

the lmg no problem for me but the hmg that make the unit bog down especially the AI like to spam that thing rather than infantry

I could look into adding a No MG/Mortar Infantry mode, but since some units can equip MGs, that would make it much more difficult. Also, I'm sure everyone would have their own opinions on what units should or should not be in that mode (like snipers, or AT equipped units). (And then there is just the problem of finding time with RL these days... :winter2019surprisedyul:)

I've run tests with the All Units Mod (by SneakEye). It is an amazing mod, and I've never had any conflicts with it. I'm not as familiar with the Spearhead mod(s), but it does look to modify a lot, including new units and doctrines. Depending on how that was implemented, there could easily be conflicts.

I also looked up quickly the maps, and got multiple hits for both Route N13 and Lyon. Some of the maps are more than just maps, so could also possibly have conflicts depending on what else is changed.

The US troops are more "difficult", since their production is related to officer production more than just Production Building... The biggest problem with the UK was the engineers building units... Both were more tricky than the original forces.

I'm curious where (what code) is spitting those notifications up ? I have run a few quick tests, and have not been able to reproduce those... (Note: I am usually testing with the legacy 32 bit EXE, since it works around some achievement bugs and release issues.)

i may be have 1 request if you may, i really want you to add another gamemode but its for infantry only without mortar and mg (i know there is a conscript/grenadier gamemode but the AI become more restrictive fielding other unit)

i try some mod i know like the all unit mod and spearhead and it only work on all unit. the map preferences i always test it in route n13 and lyon

i try with all unit mod and its fine but there is new problem that when facing certain faction like USF and UKF the gamemode cannot active and some notification appear before the game start. The weird thing is when i try it weeks ago it seems running fine. I.ll try to unsub than download it again to see if it fix or not. Keep up the good work

Glad you like it [when it works ].

It is possible there was some conflict with the other mod you were using; even some maps may conflict and force building of other units ? What other mod where you using ? (what map too, and any specific settings I can test ?)

It's also possible that the AI was building non-infantry units using a selected commander, but that should not be in large numbers ? (Known Bug though)

i love what you done with this gamemode, but there is slight problem. In the infantry only there are inconsistency that AI manage to build tanks in large number. (I used other mod to test the infantry only and find that some mod like all unit mod the AI not building tank but in the other mod the AI manage to builds tank in large number). Keep up the good work with the gamemode
