Description
*Updated* The map review of BonBonB showed some Terrain glitches, blue mantles and drowning trees. I reworked the mentioned points and I hope to improve your playing experience *Update*

Inspiration
This map inspired by the Mosel river valley[en.wikipedia.org] around the small city of Cochem, Germany. In this section, the course of the river takes many bends and the flanks are used to grow wine since Roman times.

While the general topography is based on this real life region, I altered many parts many parts, flattened the bottom of the valley and the plateau. The highways are also not following any real life road. However, the bridge is inspired by the Hochmoselbrücke[en.wikipedia.org], which is only some 20 km away from the edges of the represented area. So finally, the map is fictitious, but still a homage to this beautiful region

Motivation
The aim was to create a map with a narrow valley surrounded by steep mountains or flanks in order to force the player to think carefully about traffic, the usage of the available space, the planning of roads to the top of the plateau, etc. The idea is that the player is thereby forced to act more like real urban planners and that the resulting city grows more naturally and realistic.

That’s the theory. However I hope that you can enjoy the map and I’m curious what you are able to achieve :-)

Information
  • This is the first map that I release in the steam workshop. So please be merciful, but feedback is welcome!
  • I'm aware of some flaws, e.g. I think that the water system is not very robust and the stream is not very strong. However, when creating this map, I had in mind to use the magnificent water pumping stations and sewage treatment facilities of Avanya. (@Avanya: in case you ever read this: Thank you very much for your work!)
  • There are about two times more trees on the map than the vanilla limit allows. Therefore I used the low-tri trees from pdelmo and Lost Gecko (The same for you guys: Thank you for your assets!)
  • A collection with all used assets, theme and LUT is linked below.

Enough said, have fun!

For a first map its very good, I saw a picture of the region and when I found your map I just had to use it. I will see if I can do anything with it in the editor, it might just be a case of lowering the last part of the river and/or raising the first.

It is or should be moving very slowly from the start square towards the big highway bridge. But the flow is indeed very slow and I don't know how pumping water will alter it. Sorry, that was my very first map.

When I try using this map the river isn't flowing. which way should it travel?

Yep, now the list of required objects is gone as well and the thumbnail of my order map is away and the steam workshop does not show any custom maps... I think the servers are a bit overloaded...

Hi, I'm not completely sure if I understand correctly. But I'd guess that there is currently a problem with steam. The one-click collection should contain everything, but Steam does not allow me to check it currently... so I'd guess this could be a Steam problem which should be better in a day or so (maybe servers are overloaded because of Cyberpunk 2077 release?)
