Survival Impossible came out around the time the Basic Refiner came out and it was more or less redundant once you upgraded, a lot of us used sorters to shunt stone to a series of basic refiners and downloaded the concrete mod to substitute for steel and give use for gravel. it may not yield as much as survival kit but processes it faster and between the three is the better option for processing stone.
I've noticed the basic refinery returns very little metal compared to the survival unit. Thematically this makes sense, but is the same also true of the refinery?
If you want to un-nerf the turbines, you can change the wind speed of the planet, then reload your game.
