HU-43e Angler Courier Ship (Vanilla)

Description
NEW UPDATE: Doubled both Hydrogen and Atmospheric Brake Thrusters. The ship still doesn't stop on a dime, but performance should be significantly improved.

The Angler is a Jump-capable ship, geared toward early survival games. It uses a system of both hydrogen and atmospheric thrusters to traverse a multitude of environments. It's narrow cross section makes it perfect for landing in cramped places.

Runs MMaster's Automatic LCDs 2, as well as my own personal Airlock script.

Operational notes:

"The Angler's shining attributes are its narrow profile and economic
construction. At only 12.5 meters wide, the Angler is capable of landing
on pads designed for much smaller craft. The ship is ideal for any
prospective traders looking to get off world on a budget.

"The ship has an unfortunate reputation for it's low brake thrust.
The Type-E has doubled both the atmospheric and hydrogen brake
thrusters from previous models, but it still doesn't stop on a dime.
Many veteran pilots have observed that in atmosphere, pitching the nose
up helps to augment the forward brake thrust with the lift thrust.

"In orbit the ship can also brake much faster when it flips around and
uses its main thrusters, much like a classic rocket. A tail camera is
provided to assist in such maneuvers.

"To conserve fuel, the ship's hydrogen thrusters can be toggled off while
cruising in atmosphere. It is important to note that without the hydrogen
thrusters, the ship's handling can be dangerously sluggish. Pilots are
advised to fly conservatively when flying without the ship's H2 system."

One's running MMaster's Automatic LCDs 2. The other runs my personal Airlock Script. I've found that some times when I build the ship from a projector in survival, some of the commands get un-mapped from the hotbar.

Yep, It does handle very well with all those gyros. I kinda figured you'd have to treat it like a ship in The Expanse and flip it around to decelerate. Gotta work on my piloting skills I guess!

@6d722e74 I agree with you about the brake thrusters. I kinda ran out of room, and prioritized the aesthetic over performance in that case. When in atmo I try to fly it a bit like a helicopter, so if I need to stop quickly I pitch up and let the lift thrusters slow me down. I also put a camera on the tail so that when I'm scouting asteroids I can switch the inertial dampeners off, flip around and let the main thrusters catch me when I get where I'm going. All that said, I'm still going to look at options for better brake thrusters.

In the mean time, I'll try to get on putting that flight manual in the pilot's seat. :steammocking:

Great ship! This is my first large projector build in survival, *piece by piece* (Ugh! But ultimately rewarding.). My only quibble is that the reverse thrust is a bit weak and I couldn't find the instruction manual. You did remember to leave it in the pilot seat, didn't you? :steamhappy:
