Mongrel-17B Sentry Platform 1.2 (Survival-Ready)

A small autonomous defensive platform (no crew space/interior) intended to be used in a loose network on the perimiter of your holdings, often in a group of 3 to 6.

Equipped with 14.5mm CIWS & Mexpex Heavy Defense Turrets, the Mongrel is most effective against meteor showers & can work consistently in an anti-fighter & anti-missile capacity. Equipped with several small fusion reactors, once fuelled & loaded the Mongrel can operate autonomously for extended periods, and can be outfitted with an antenna for remote control from a centralized facility. The Mongrel is also equipped with double-layer shield protection for extended peace of mind - a fast-charge shield bubble & a secondary layer of backup 'skin shields' from smaller generators. Although these shields are more than adequate for any minor skirmish, they will not be suitable for resisting sustained assault.

Fully conveyered up & with a connector for docking, the Mongrel is suitable for a survival save. I recommend using a large welding ship with a projector to construct the platform, making sure to feed uranium through the connector before disconnecting from the grid. Don't forget to convert the grid to a station if you use this method!
