Morrowind's moons

Description
Masser and Secunda textures from Morrowind.
IMHO Morrowind's moons are better than Skyrim's.

The moons of Nirn are actually Lorkhan after the nine divines turned him into two moons after throwing his heart into the red mountain

the onlypart @paul is right about is that nirn is the planet but it is alsothe plane they are in and from there it is both planet and realm

@Paul (and other lore nerds like myself)
You need to remember that all of that knowledge is what the mages of tamriel currently know/understand. Perhaps nirn isn't the only planet; after all, I remember reading in the mystic archives, (of the arcane university), that nirn, like oblivion, is simply one of the many planes that exist, and people can travel between them through certain means (portals/gates/etc.).
I have a theory that these planes are different planets, and these gates work like the ones in mass effect, allowing people to travel millions of light years in a few seconds.
I can't recall the exact name of the book I read that made me think of this being the case, but if you like to read every in-game book like I do, you might be able to find it on uesp.net .

How friggen cool would it be if the future elder scrolls games allow the pc to travel into space??? That'd be friggen awesome! (And then we could find out if these oblivion planes really are other planets)

Paul that was way off... While I'm not sure about how it works there is a "sun" which is blantently stated in the dawnguard DLC, and Sovenguard is actually a part of atherius not a different realm but a realm within the realm of atheirus. But yes anyone who thinks Elder scrolls is based off earth and not on the planet Nirn needs to play Morrowind or something.

Elder scrolls takes place on a planet called Nirn which is surrounded by many moons. there are no other planets in elder scrolls Nirn is the only one.
there is no Sun or stars in elder scrolls. the lights you see in the sky are holes in the realm make by the Aedra( the beings the made everything. eight divines and such ) the only other realms in elder scrolls are the Deadric realms, sovenguard and aetherius (the place where the aedra originate)

Elder scrolls is not on earth
Its is not based on earth it is based on the lore and the previous games combined (morrowind and oblivion)

Iam now returning the my lore cave to seek more knoledge farewell.
