Description
I saw the mod Erchius Crystal module by DooM74G and thought wouldn't it be nice to have this actually be the fuel hatch.

So I took the mod apart and searched the lua informational archives for anything to make this useful. And I succeeded.

This mod used the art from DooM74G (with one minor change... ON and OFF are switched around. Closed is ON and open is OFF). I recreated the images-files and created some new versions, modified the object code and added a custom lua.

The fuelmodules can be crafted at the mechanics tab of the wiring station.


The mod now does the following:

- the Erchius Crystal fuelmodule is a functioning fuel hatch

- when the input wire is not connected: the fuel hatch is open (engine is OFF) and accessible

- when the input wire is connected and the switch is off: the fuel hatch is open (engine is "OFF") and accessible

- when the input wire is connected and the switch is on: the fuel hatch is closed (engine is "ON") and is not accessible. Together with the mod
Field Generator and either Macrochip (Item Sensor) or NyaaTech - Keypads (TogglePad v1/v2) you can prevent others from accessing the fuel (either by requiring to carry a specific item or entering the right code)

- Output wire (botom row 1): Signal ON when Erchius Crystal fuelmodule is opened

- Output wire (botom row 2): Signal ON when Erchius Crystal fuelmodule is closed

- Output wire (top row 1): Signal ON when fuel less than 25%

- Output wire (top row 1): Signal ON when fuel between 25% and 75%

- Output wire (top row 1): Signal ON when fuel more than 75%

At thew moment just the two colours and for those with and without shown wires.

I am currently looking into placement options and recolours of an object with the paint tool. I will add your wish to my list. I cannot say when I will be able to finish.

Does the fuel hatch itself come in a variety of colours?
I feel like it should, considering all the different species/ship mods out there.

@Foxhell: This is a modified fuel hatch / storage container. So it can only be used in either two ways. Either as a storage container (when placed anywhere else than on the ship) or a fuel hatch (when placed on a ship).

I personally use the wiring systems of either Frackin' Universe or Automation Aides .

In both cases I put an item sensor on the bottom left of the module to transport the fuel (any type my current setup accepts).

It can store anything... just the "fuel" option will only work for fuels. You need any mod that changes fuels to use anything other than the standard fuels.

@warmainiac: No. I use FU and the custom ship myself.

This uses the ingame mechanism... you even can place multiple if you really want too. They are a storage container connected to the fuel slot.
