DWAR...the short story:
DWAR idea is born in ARMA2 times playing Xeno's Domination, when i really wished to had a way more dynamic battlefield,
with every possible military situation happening randomly, from air fighters combat to underwater scuba divers fights,
with the possibility to play alone, COOP, TvT, TvTvT, TvT+AI, even as civilian. can be used also for training turning off AI!
I really wished to have everything that ARMA3 has to offer all packed in a single versatile mission, that is autonomous,
due to so many random factors two match are never the same, there is total freedom of action, with priority always on good performance!
From my point of view its the most complete and dynamic battlefield where everything can happen from the sky to the undersea, and automatically includes every mod you throw at it, so for example if you play it with CUP units,
it automatically include CUP units in the random list to choose from to spawn AI!
Its also customizable by setting for example AI numbers, side mission frequency and a tons of other factors like kamikaze, IEDs ecc...




WHAT IS DWAR AND HOW IT WORKS: (...the long story)
DLEGION's DYNAMIC WAR (DWAR): is a COOP/TvsTvsT alive and dynamic battlefield based on action=consequences, in a realistic way.
Its a sort of AI zeus that keeps the world around players alive and interesting, providing every kind of possible military situation.
The concept is quite simple, i imagined a complete all-round war,with every kind of possible military situation,
all generated randomly so every match would be unique, and scaled it down in size to match ''ARMA3 size'' and keeping performance in mind.
Convert this idea into scripts was far more complex, but in the end, and thanks to guys helping me on the forum, DWAR is finally complete!
I wanted map ''alive'' around players, so i made a kind of ''bubble'' around players that spawns (de-spawn if too far) randomly civiliand and independents,
choosing from EVERY unit avaible to this factions.It can randomly spawn EVERY unit, including DLC and probably even MODS you may use!
Obviously i discriminated the ranges and the random spawnpoints based on the kind of units, so for example a boat will not spawn on ground, LOL!
This feature alone make the map always ''alive'', with random encounters everywhere,from the sky to the undersea, with no performance impact by script,
the performance drop is related only to the number of AI spawned, not to the script itself (i tested with 0 AI to say this),
i keeped the system pretty basic intentionally to save performance, and in the end its still quite realistic while doing its job of populate map.
Then i wanted something ''always present on map'', because its ok to make the main action around players, but if you notice that outside your ''bubble''
nothing happens, it start to get unrealistic and breaks immersion, so NATO and CSAT convoys are spawned, randomly choosing between ALL land vehicles,
(so again, compatible with all present units, future DLC units and probably even MODS), and they move to conquest central airport,
if they succeed, the convoy will randomly patrol the whole map. If destroyed, it will respawn at faction main HQ.
Same for 1 CAS plane and 1 helicopter for faction (NATO and CSAT), they spawn, patrol randomly the whole map, if destroyed they respawn.
This mix of persistent units and ''bubble'' units generate a very realistic and belivable warfare around players, and the most unpredictable situations!
Then there are the troops defending the main objective, spawned just once at the start of a new main objective, they will respawn only on a new objective.
Again choosed randomly between ALL independent units, you can expect everything! (planes, boats, scuba, drones, turrets, mortars ecc...everything!).
This units patrol around main objective, and if it is being conquered, they will run to defend it!
The main objective itself is made to ''focus'' players actions, both in COOP and TvT, to not spread too much the action and encourage players encounters,
and when conquered by a faction (NATO or CSAT) it will spawn a new one, randomly.So, considering map size, every objective will be unique,
both for area of spawn of the bunker and for unit composition defending it!
To make an all-round war, with every possible military situation, an extra touch was needed...so i added many ''features'' or ''side missions'',
for example if an AI pilot is shooted-down, and ejects, upon touching ground (or sea) it calls for help on radio,and starts moving to his HQ,
triggering a ''rescue the pilot'' side mission,that players can choose to take or not,with a reward (in case of success) of an extra plane patrolling the sky.
Rescue a pilot of the enemy faction, will activate a ''rescue the hostage'' mission, this is a good example of what i mean with cause-effect relation in DWAR.
There are others, like veteran sniper hunting (and yes, the sniper will shoot to you up to 2000m), random kamikaze civilian screaming ''allahu akbar''
and exploding if near to players, if an MHQ is spotted near a main objective will be attacked by GREEN waves, triggering a kind of last stand...ecc...
but the great part is that DWAR is made to easily accept additional side missions, that anyone with a decent script knowledge can add!
DWAR its made to run 24h+ , it has its own cleaning system to keep performance up in case of player spam with factory vehicles or objects,
and intentionally has no ''negative consequences on faction'' related to player actions, so for example, unlike missions like ''Liberation'',
there is no faction resources, or penalty for player actions, like killing civilians, i mean the player killing the civilians WILL be punished,
by getting considered a murderer and killed on sight by its own faction AI, but on respawn, all its ''troubles'' will be reset.
Thats because i noticed on servers like Liberation, new people (maybe not knowing the consequences) spending badly the faction resources,
wasting precious vehicles, killing civilians lowering the faction relations with civilians ecc...and i really wish to not make other people angry,
especially considering this mission can be played from casual/arcade to serious MILSIM, depending by settings and mods running!
My final idea of DWAR is of a complete mission offering all that ARMA3 has to offer, so versatile that you can use it for COOP or TvTvT,
for arcade or MILSIM, and even as a template for ZEUS missions,making the world already alive and adding only specific mission elements!

I know you can add modded assets but can you blacklist or whitelist certain factions? Example: Nszis vs US or Terminators vs resistance etc.

well, it can be applied to any map. i dont know "gabreta" , but you just need to un-PBO , open it in editor copy all objects there and paste to the new map. move the object to a location that makes sense (are few, not a big deal) and be sure to move all the scripts in the folder....et voilà! all will work !

@frootyxninja the settings are in the files scripts, the main one is DDscripts/SPAWNERind.sqf
you can open it with a simple text editor, all the settings to edit are at start, clearly visible and commented with an explanation after the value. if you have any trouble just contact me.
