Better Large Body Water

Description
I thought we needed some better looking water for lakes and oceans so I went hunting for water normal maps and ways to generate them. The results are kind of simple but effective.

Scaling the water gives the impression of different size surface turbulence and this plays a pretty large part in how the water is percieved.

Anyhow, lock the water and slide it so it intersects with your coast lines. Color tint to match the desired color(and then make it darker than you'd expect because the color comes out pretty bright). I'm sorry the surface doesn't move or that its not Transparent. Its all I could do.

Also, I find that it looks more realistic when the lighting is a tiny bit more Yellow than default but that might depend on the needs of the rest of your scene.

Update: Added some set pieces to show off the water a little better. Added Ships from Wojak The Wanderer. Added terrain from SocMonkey. Added Partical Effects from ???

Something broke again. Get some mp4 errors and missing textures. Nothing is animating atm.

Hey Lost. You can control the depth of the pass through version by using one of the corners and raising it and locking it like we were recently discussing. It can be a little tricky but theres basically an invisible cube there so you can manipulate it like a normal object and yet have other objects pass through the visible part.

Awesome. Thank you for sharing. I only wish that the water's depth could be adjusted

Thank yoU @peerless

its a blue one, but have calming waters..in fact it's the only animated tile before hitting into page 2 where you have another version (fire and pink water?) followed by 2 figurines., I didn't think twice that it would be located on the corners of that animated water.

but thank you so much ;_;!..

Hachimitsu, Which tile are you trying to move. The two animated waters with the white square drawn under them are non-colliding except in that corner. This allows objects to submerge through the water surface.

If you'd like to make it completely solid, right click on the corner and then go to custom. You can copy the normal/bump map field onto one of the other square tiles that doesn't have that white rectangle drawn under it and then that one will start animating as well. You might have to use the color tinter to get the color you want.

Alternatively you can do the same process but instead update the collider field on the anmated object. If you copy the colider from one of the solid square examples, you can paste it into the collider field of the animated object.

Let me know if thats confusing.

Does anyone know how to remove the "animated" water? for some reason, it got stuck in midair and I wanted to resize it. I tried everything but felt like it is being locked onto something ( not even unlocking it works).

it looks well made but again having some problems ;_;!:steamsad:

Btw looks like the normal map issue was fixed with one of the recent updates so this mod is working again.

Ah crap. That looks like normal maps have stopped working in TTS for anything thats not an asset bundle. Thats not great!

New update broke it. Hoping for a fix.

It really was the best water out there. It looks like the new patch kind of broke it thought.
