Description
ATF R&D presents some new technology in a recognizable formfactor.

The new HD solar cell product line.
Output: x2
Improved assembly techniques eliminate wasted space and occluded portions of cells, doubling the original panels capacity. The application of superconductor and advanced charge controlling systems helps move your precious electrons with the utmost efficiency to where you need them the most.
It presents a cost effective solution for rapid deployment of basic solar technologies.

MD Solar Panel.
Output: x3 +/-
Our gold oxide solar cell harnesses the quantum level properties of gold particles to produce a new variety of solar cell, the 'Micro Density solar cell'. ATF uses nanoscale, on chip, conductors and new micro-architecture to produce highly conductive solar cells, sensitive to a wider range of light spectrum. Further enhancing the final product with previously developed charge control and superconducting packages to ensure maximum performance in even the most rigorous of applications.

E-MD Solar Panel
Output: x4 +/-
The final offering builds atop previous technologies with new printing and layering techniques increasing sensitivity to multiple spectrum of light, even bridging into the nonvisible spectrum allowing for extended operation during twilight hours. Platinum microfilm contacts and conductors ensures a long lifetime at higher operating currents and temperatures without degradation.

This mod adds 3 new solar options, both large and small, and 2 new solar cell types.
- The HD solar panel doubles outputand uses only basic solar cells although twice as many.
- The Microdensity solar panel produces roughly 1.5 times more than the HD panel and uses the Microdensity solar cell which requires gold and silver in its construction.
- The Enhanced MD Panel produces 1.5 times again over the gold solar panel, roughly 4x the base solar output and uses the E-MD solar cell which uses platinum as well as gold and silver in its construction.
- All 3 require double the cells of base solar panels and have additional requirements of superconductor components, more computers and bulletproof glass.

Recommended to pair this mod with Midspace's Experimental Solar Tracker for best results.

Credits

In its current iteration, credit for artwork on the enhanced solar panels goes to Foogs, coding also grew from his mod 'more solar power' so will also carry many similarities.

Thank you Foogs for permission to use your assets in my first ever workshop mod.
Be sure to check out his stuff.

I feel personally that no matter how sci-fi a game or video might be, a little research and technobabel in the description can go a long way towards immersivness and enjoyment. If Star Trek and Star Wars have taught me anything, its that the added work and vocabulary serves to deepen the mystery of fantastic technologies and increase their plausibility within the realm of science fiction even though it may not be possible in terms of current scientific reality.

Another thing we can consider is moors law. Though space engineers is based in the fictional future of 2077 which doesn't seem all that far away, Moors law dictates that technological advancement is subject to an exponential curve. The dreams of today may yet be reality in a mere decade, never mind 51 years.

This mod is in testing for materials and balance of use, ideally encouraging the gradual advancement through each tier rather than skipping to the best one right away. Any suggestions are welcome.

Have at it, save the universe... or wreck it.

I poked around for a few hours and figured out how they changed the block categories and updated the main bits of the code to match the new file layouts. The panels should all be nested with the renewables now. I also updated the components requirements, solar panels apparently use fewer cells now, when exactly that changed, I'm not sure.

I also seem to have figured out how to get it to update my existing mod, (I lost the original files). Scream at me if there's any other issues, I didn't test it in survival yet. Have fun :)

@maxi Thanks for the report, I haven't been playing much lately so I hadn't noticed. Ill have a look at it as soon as I get some time :)

Hi! I like that mod because of power increase from the same area, sense of improvement and look.
However after latest update panels cannot be built, but built ones work. In solar group there is only default solar panel and wind generator.

Okay, I'm now following :) And checking out your "vector thrust" miner :)

@EmiricoI4RI
Thanks a bunch, I just got back to playing after a long break, I think I have a few more simple QOL mods coming, keep watching :D
